Entrance hidden down a short alley 3 blocks from Baseball Hall of Fame is an absolute gem of culinary excellence of Indian Tibetan cuisine. Personable service and hot bowls of food quickly served stove to table. What a treat of hot steaming garlic naan! If you like Indian food, Norbu will not disappoint.

This authentic and intimate experience wowed my family and me. There are many familiar dishes and some we ventured to try- all were fantastic. Service was well above par (it seemed a modest and quiet setting around dinner time that night) and we look forward to visiting again our next trip out.

My favorite place to get the chicken biryani in all of upstate NY! Employees are always friendly and service is great. Lot of good options!

This place is incredible and the staff is so kind! They made us simply the most wonderful food, and it was served in a really cozy and unique atmosphere! The workers all happily open the doors for you, and accommodate cheerfully. This is easily the best restaurant in Cooperstown, and it was recommended to me by several locals who claimed the same. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options that are delicious and hardy!

This is a great spot in Cooperstown. If you love good Indian food (or you have yet to try Indian food because it “scares” you) you should definitely go here. The staff is very warm and welcoming and the restaurant is tastefully decorated. The food is great and the staff will provide you with recommendations based on your tastes.
After moving back to upstate NY from Pittsburgh, PA, this is a refreshing spot to have in my backyard.

Norbu is a culinary gem in Cooperstown that blends the vibrant flavors of India with the rich Nepalese culinary tradition. It is a must visit if you are in town.
This family-owned establishment was founded with love and it absolutely shows from the way each dish is prepared to how every order is taken. From the moment you walk in, you are invited into a real South Asian experience from the way the cozy interior is decorated with authentic relics from Nepal. Your order is warmly taken by one of the family members of Norbu (the uncle whose name the restaurant bears) and they are careful to explain what each item is and contains.
The Chicken Tikka Masala we ordered was perfect and we learned they use a real tandoor (Indian urn-shaped oven) to prepare the dish. The curry was cooked to perfection and it was so creamy and savory when paired with the garlic naan. We also enjoyed Nepali momos (steamed dumpling that are a delicacy in Nepal) as an appetizer and were so delicious! There is also a “Today’s Special” menu that changes every day, so there is always something new for you to try.
The bar serves cocktails, wines, and beers. I really enjoyed the local Cooperstown brews on tap from the Brewery Ommegang.
If you happen to be in Cooperstown, don’t miss out on Norbu. Seats fill up quick in the busy season so make sure check ahead if they have seating…it is certainly worth the stop!

Nice place a bit costly for the area and not for everyday visits. Service was friendly, comfortable setting. Food was good, not overwhelming portions. Spent $120 for two people, appetizers, main course and desert. Usual Cooperstown lack of parking.
