Eclectic menu of salads and sandwiches
plus victorian style ice cream parlor! Their soups are delicious homemade and not run of the mill! In good weather you can eat outside in the beautiful centerway square and people watch in front of the clock tower. This is the true Corning experience!

If you want to treat yourself to delicious ice cream in a vintage ice cream parlor, then Old World Cafe in Corning is the place to visit. We stopped here for an ice cream break during a recent summer day. The authentic atmosphere here is like stepping back in time. They offer an ample selection of ice cream flavors, along with a food menu featuring a variety of salads and specialty sandwiches as well. A kids menu is available. Our server, Abby(?), was very friendly and engaging, and we really enjoyed our visit here. The caramel-truffle and chocolate-raspberry flavors were both delicious. Two generous scoops of Hershey ice cream will set you back around $6 plus tax. Delicious ice cream at a reasonable price served in a historic old Victorian ice cream parlor. That's about as perfect as it gets. Highly recommended. Thanks for reading!

Homemade soups, sandwiches and paninis all delicious. Extremely fast service. Restaurant is in an historic building.

Felt rushed when placing my order. I ordered and asked for no feta dressing on the sandwich. The woman taking my order proceeded to roll her eyes, laugh and say words under her breath. I asked her what she said, and she said “it’s just that the feta is really good” with attitude. I couldn’t believe this employee laughed in my face and acted like that because I didn’t want the dressing that came with the sandwich. I am not from this area and this was my first time in Corning. I did not appreciate it at all. We ended up leaving and not getting food there.

I had the Mediterranean sandwich and it was so good and so filling I brought it home and stretched it out for 2 days, it was soooo good I didn't want it to be gone!! Can't wait to go back but you're over 2 hrs away!😢 the atmosphere was like an old fashioned ice cream parlor. Loved everything about it!!

Food was great, but sadly, the order taker and the cashier are rude and very condescending to the customers. They could really used some proper customer service training.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Large portions. Flavors were great. Chef salad and a Turkey Reuben.
Pistachio Gelato was creamy but lacked a strong Pistachio flavor. Service was great!

I stopped in thought the shop looked cute and quaint. I had a question about the menu. The woman was so rude and disrespectful. I went to walk away and she was upset that I asked about a breakfast menu. She was telling the next employee across the counter and shaking her head.
I will never visit this establishment again.

My wife and I had chicken salad sandwiches which were pretty good, though a bit on the expensive side. Really no issues with the food or cleanliness of the place.

I had more of a problem with the attitude of the waitresses/cashiers. At least three of them were rude. One in particular was very condescending towards another customer who was presumably East Asian. At some point she said something like "yes, roast beef, that's what it's called" and was clearly annoyed by having to deal with them. Even if I wasn't the direct target of that, it was unpleasant to witness. These are your customers. Treat them equally and treat them well. I won't be coming back.
