Scallops were cooked just right, very fresh and flavorful. Accompanying vegetables also just right, neither chewy or soggy. Moussaka very interesting, with pomegranate seeds. Not the flavors I'm used to but excellent. Generous portion. Accompanying little bread pouches seemed unnecessary and underwhelming. He had the burger and I stole some of his amazing fries. Two lava cakes among the three of us were the perfect ending. Accompanying salted caramel ice cream had more flavor and better texture than any I've tasted. Service was perfect even though we arrived late.
We have eaten here several times over the years and brought many friends and family. 95% of the time the food and service is excellent. There was one or two times we came that the food was not as we would've expected. However, last night was phenomenal. The bartender, the hostess and our server were beyond excellent. The food was amazing with dishes that we had not seen previously, which was a welcome treat. It is so helpful to have so many gluten free and vegan choices without the risk of comprising taste. The wine selection is excellent, and our server was able to help us come up with a wine, which would pair with everyone's courses. We had never brought our current guests there before, and they were exceedingly happy with our choice of restaurant and the experience of the evening. I would say it was one of the best nights we've had in a restaurant. Thanks so much.
Stellar experience. Everything enjoyable. Food excellent as was service. Drinks great too. Pricey but worth it.
We were a party of two for dinner. We shared the Babaganoush as an appetizer. One of us had the chicken and waffles, and the other had the house salad with shrimp. The food was all delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. This was our third visit to this restaurant for a trip to Corning. It had been a few years since the last time. It does seem that the menu has evolved a bit to include more vegan and vegetarian choices as well as ones with spicier seasoning. In general, this was good to see. However, for one of us, who does not eat red meat and needs mild seasoning, the options were very limited. In that regard, the house salad with shrimp for $26 was rather pricey. Having an alternative with chicken or additional chicken entrees would have been preferred.
Very nice place. Food and wine were excellent, maybe the best burger I've ever had, and wife's filet mignon also a really good cut and cooked perfectly. My only gripe is it is fairly loud, which didn't bother us much but if your looking for a quiet meal probably look elsewhere.
Highly recommend The Cellar for a special dinner. The total experience surpassed my expectations- very tasty food selections, great advice from staff on wine, and great vibe throughout the restaurant. The only negative is the higher than necessary cost. But I still highly recommend this eatery.
We decided to try this restaurant as it highly rated. The atmosphere was wonderful - a bit fancy and equipped with a bar. We were given a table close to the window - a bit sunny at first as there are no blinds available. Menu was limited due to the availability of ingredients. I decided to try the falafel salad - very well presented and prepared. The greens were so fresh and delicate. The patties deliciously cooked. Followed by the cauliflower harissa - I found this dish a bit overpowering with a mix of hot pepper sauce and hummus. The califlower was prepared beautifully. My friend has the soup of the day - Moroccan vegetable- nicely presented and he enjoyed followed by the falafel salad. We decided to split the s'mores dessert- it was really cool as there was an active flame to toast the marshmallows - really cool concept- well enjoyed. I really enjoyed our dinner here at The cellar and would return.
Our dinners were amazing! I had filet mignon and my husband had the Kobe beef skewers and creme brûlée for dessert. We really enjoyed our meals. Our waitress was so nice. We will definitely visit this restaurant again when we are in Corning.
Service- excellent, cocktails - excellent, cauliflower- excellent, cheese platter- don't order it. The cheese platter is way more crackers than cheese. But do order the lava cake
Absolutely loved the first time we went here two years ago, so much so we went 50 miles out of our way to eat there again. This time was disappointing...no cocktails got our attention, menu choices seemed cut back, our appetizers were excellent (crab cakes and pork belly), chicken and waffles very good but my wagu skewers and accompanying vegetables came lukewarm at best. Room was packed to the max (Tuesday) with diners and staff seemed spread thin.

This was a lovely restaurant! Our meals and our server, Emmett, were wonderful! The atmosphere was beautiful, as was the presentation of the food! We would definitely go there again if were in Corning!
Very inventive and interesting menu. Everything was delicious. So good we went back the next night while in Corning for 4 nights.
Excellent food and great ambiance. Very busy and maybe a touch understaffed on this Thursday evening, so bit of a delay between appetizer & entree. Otherwise an exceptional dinner!
Enjoyed a number of small plates in lieu of a main -- pork lettuce wraps, shrimp app, house salad with added blue cheese, and the burrata. Really liked the Boxler Pinot Blanc (from Alsace, I think). Husband liked his usual Bombay martini (although it could have been larger). For dessert we both had the house made ice creams -- 2 scoops each --salted caramel and vanilla.
Our food came out piping hot and was full of flavor. This was not our first time here so it was nice that we could still order some of our favorite drinks that were no longer on the menu. Great vibe at the restaurant and we had the perfect seat right by the front windows.
