Painter's Tavern is an absolute treasure. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, artistic atmosphere that perfectly captures the charm of Cornwall. The food was outstanding – fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. You can tell the chefs here really care about what they’re serving.

Had a burger and fish and chips both were excellent. Butterscotch pudding for dessert was pretty solid too. The decor is lovely whether you dine in or go to the bar. Hostess/owner is very pleasant and welcoming.

Husband and I went because we passed by and it was so pretty. The property is really delightful . We chose to sit inside, which was a mistake because it was freezing. The food was terrible. For appetizers we had the beet salad and the fried calamari. The salad was fine, the calamari was clearly from a frozen food whole seller, but at least it warmed us up a bit. Husband had a burger that was worse than what I would expect from a carnival truck. I had the French dip. It was terrible. Tasted like steak-ums with a side of Campbells onion soup for dipping. This was not restaurant quality food.

We visited on A day weekend to celebrate our cadet. Wow! Great food, wonderful vibe. This is our favorite place in the Hudson River valley so far. Loved the awesome outdoor area in the front. Beautiful plants. It was a busy weekend, thank you for accommodating us (and our pup) on a very hot day. We appreciated you going out of your way. Thank you! We will be back.

We have been here 4-5 times for both date nights and family meals with small kids. There has been a good atmosphere and great service in both the dining room and bar area.
The cocktails have been delicious every time we ordered. Big fans of the Apricot after Dark and Touch of Blue. The seafood risotto special, roasted beet salad, Isabella shells, and gnocchi ragu have all been delicious with very generous portion sizes.
The classic Caesar is the only dish we were not a huge fan of due to some very strong dressing.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Wonderful Dining Experience for the Whole Family
We had such a great time dining here! The food was absolutely delicious – everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. There’s a good variety on the menu, so everyone found something they loved, even the picky eaters in our group.
What really stood out, though, was how kid-friendly the restaurant is. The staff especially the man at the front were so welcoming and patient with our little ones, and there were even kid’s menu options and high chairs readily available. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-oriented, which made it easy for us to enjoy our meal without stress.
The service was also excellent – friendly, attentive, and genuine. It’s clear the staff really care about making sure guests feel comfortable and taken care of.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place that’s great for both adults and kids. We’ll definitely be coming back

I am very pleasantly surprised at all the changes since I was here several years ago! Much more affordable with a great menu that offers something for everyone. Very knowledgeable waitstaff who were just attentive enough and very friendly. Even the music was great!

Used to be 5 stars, but since reopening, they won't answer their phone so we haven't been. I need to know about their kids menu, but it's not on their website, and going over is inconvenient.
It's a bummer, as we used to eat at/from Painters multiple times a month. I figured no phones as a temporary thing, but they still don't answer.
Do they still have a kids grilled cheese? We may never know.
Party of 4 had a delicious Prime Rib meal on Wednesday night. Prime Rib was cooked to perfection with a side of horseradish sauce, the mashed potatoes were creamy and the veggies were very tasty. Our plates were empty! Then came desserts. Oreo Mousse and a flourless chocolate cake, a perfect ending. More empty plates. Thank you Phil and Alaina (sp) for being so friendly and attentive. We absolutely enjoyed our meal and can't wait to try more of Painter's specials.
