I am not sure what’s happened with this place, new ownership, new chef, bad day? Whatever it is, this formerly lovely local cafe has taken a seriously bad turn. We recently stopped in for lunch thinking it would be relatively quick and tasty. Not only was the service slower than molasses, the food we received was not only not super tasty but also some of it not even close to what was described on the menu. For example, one sandwich we ordered was the “North Point”: the bread was nearly gray in color, the meat and cheese looked like a budget school lunch product and it was absolutely slathered in plain mayonnaise, zero flavor at all in sight. And let’s talk about the “Main Street Melt”…that arrived on the same gray, weird roll as the North Point, no garlic bread to be seen as in the description. Also the sandwich arrived on a plate without fries at all, also not as listed on the menu. There was barely a hint of mozzarella and the beef tasted a bit off. Neither of us could even stomach the food to finish it. It was an expensive and sad endeavor. And let’s not even go there with the very bizarre walk to the bathrooms. I’m just so sorry to say it was overall incredibly disappointing when compared to previous visits to this restaurant in the past. Thumbs down, Google. Definitely cannot recommend.

This one beloved Cornwall hot spot has really declined unfortunately. Are they using up inventory in preparation to close? For $16.99 the smash burger is smaller than a McDonald’s burger. It is small, flavorless, greasy, and served with frozen crinkle fries now. It did not used to be like this. The quality has drastically declined. The deli counter is gone. The amount of beers on tap has decreased. The beer case with great craft beers is completely empty. This is sad. This place used to be good. What’s going on? I was rooting for these guys.

Not sure why, but things have gone down hill. The cold cases are gone, the once great beer selection was down to 2 drafts. The great fries were replaced with store bought frozen ones, and the sandwiches are smaller. The farmhouse used to be a great place, hope things turn around.

If you’re looking for fresh, delicious food served with a smile, look no further than The Farmhouse Market! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the wide variety of options available. Whether you’re craving a hearty meal, a healthy salad, or something sweet, they have something to satisfy every taste and dietary preference.
The quality of the food is unmatched – you can tell everything is made with the freshest ingredients. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and it’s clear the team here puts a lot of care and thought into their menu. This was my third time here and they still impress me. Today I got a grilled cheese with tomato soup and I can’t stop talking about how delicious it was! Last time I had the Beacon overlook and also another smash hit.
What really set The Farmhouse Market apart, though, was the exceptional service. The staff was so friendly and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. They even made personalized recommendations, which turned out to be spot on!
This place is a gem, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. I’ll definitely be coming back – and telling everyone I know to do the same!
Parking: Main Street Cornwall is fairly easy to navigate but they’re a dedicated parking lot.
Kid-friendliness: Lots of kid options!

My wife selected the restaurant after our visit to Storm King Art Center. We had the Chicken sandwich and it was very good. Service was excellent.

On their website says "New Hours: Saturday: 10am-6pm". Hours on the door say the same. Walked in at 4:50 and was told the kitchen is closing.

**Atmosphere:** The place has a charming farmhouse vibe and feels relaxed and clean. The food was being cooked in the food truck outside.
**Food:** The menu recently changed, eliminating breakfast. We ordered a cheese burger, a cold wrap, a chicken sandwich, and fish and chips and grilled cheese. The quality didn't match the prices; the burger was cold, without cheese and overcooked, the fries were also cold.
**Service:** We waited 15 minutes for service from our waitress, Ivy. When we asked about something on the menu she began to complain about the menu changing frequently and having many typos and it being hard for her to keep up. Mixed drinks were ordered, some made poorly and some never arriving. Once i finished my meal without receiving the drink i ordered and noticed another table who arrived after us receive their drinks i flagged down the other employee to have my drink order canceled as Ivy had ignored my previous attempts toninquire about my drink. When someone in the party mentioned their cold food, Ivy walked away without communicating a resolution. Some time later another burger was brought to the table and forced upon them. I had ordered a grill cheese sandwhich and fries which while a simple meal, were not the quality I'd expect to pay for in a restaurant. They also brought me a new plate of food and when i questioned why, Ivy just took my empty plate from me and shoved the new plate of food in front of me. ( I decided not to eat it because why?) Ivy didn't check on us during this meal we had to flag down help everytime. Her demeanor was rude and dismissive. This might have been due to understaffing. She appeared to be the only one waitressing and bar tending. There was a young guy there as buss boy and it appears the owner was cooking outside.
When another table asked about our experience, we mentioned the long wait. The manager then approached us, wrongly accusing us of telling others to leave. I wanted to explain the issue but he wouldn't listen. We were just waiting for our check, which he insisted we didn’t need to pay. Onlookers decided to leave during this very uncomfortable exchange. I saw the manger chase them down the street telling them to come back inside. They did not.
Overall, I was really rooting for this spot as I love hometown run places. But I will not be returning to the farmhouse. I sincerely hope that management will be more open to constructive feedback in the future.

I am giving a star for the comfortable seating inside the diner. It seems clean, and I’m sure the fact that the food is coming exclusively from a truck outside helps.
I ordered fish and chips which costs 18.99 and I received a plate that looks almost exactly like an elementary school lunch. Fries were a mixture of old AND almost raw/undercooked.
Our waitress was seemingly irritated with management and unfortunately my table paid for that with terrible service. We asked a question about the lemon fries and Ivy began saying “the menu has been changed at least 3 times and has misspellings and mistakes. It’s confusing even for me because he keeps changing it.” I thought it was a bit unprofessional for her to complain to us about in house issues.
Once the order went in it was a little over an hour wait for the food. Ivy brought the plate and did not bring silverware. It became apparent that anything we asked for (drinks we ordered that never came, condiments for food, etc) was an aggravation to her. To her defense, it is clear she has little to no support in her job and is clearly under management that has stressed her completely out to a point of being incapable of providing even mediocre service to customers.
The manager came out and was fully aware of our tables displeasure and was very rude to us which explained the lack of training to the staff. Overall, I’d describe this establishment as an over priced Schoolyard cafeteria. Will not be back.
My experience is based on the food, service, and atmosphere alone. Nothing more, nothing less.
The atmosphere: It has a farmhouse charm to it. It was chilled and relaxed.
The food: The establishment recently changed their menu, which no longer contains breakfast. Our table had a variety of food - burgers, cold wrap, chicken sandwich and fish and chips. The prices didn't match the food quality. Personally, my burger was cold and overcooked, and my fries were cold. And the food was not being cooked in the establishment but rather in a food truck.
The service - If I could give the service a 0 stars, I would. We waited initially 15 minutes before our table was serviced by our waitress Ivy. We had ordered drinks which some received and some didn't at all.
I politely asked if the food could either be redone or taken off the check (since the burger and fries were cold and overcooked). Ivy simpled walked away - no resolution was achieved. And then suddenly, I was forced to take another burger and fries.
Once the rest of the table got the food, Ivy never came back to check on us. Ivy's mannerisms were rude and dismissive.
* When another table asked how we felt about this establishment, we simply told them we waited a long time for the food and to simply check the ratings (during our hour wait- we check the reviews and they were accurate.)
The manager came up saying he wanted us to get out because we were telling people to leave (which was not true.) We asked that we were waiting on our check to pay (twice), and he repeatedly insisted that they didn't want us to pay.
Overall, the service from Ivy and the interaction with the manager was really what made this experience horrible.

Paid $15 expecting a full lunch, waited for almost 30 minutes only to be handed the tiniest sandwich I've ever seen with no vegetables and no fries or sides. They ran out of roast beef and had to substitute with grilled chicken, which was disappointing considering the price. Taste was fine, but nothing special. Also, I didn't realize until afterwards that all food seems to come from a tiny food truck instead of an actual kitchen. The restaurant itself is extremely barebones and almost empty inside. Not worth it in the slightest.

This is a complicated review. The food (when we got it) was very good. But the wait was insufferable. Two other tables came in after us, ordered, are, paid, and left before we got our appetizer (pretzel, cold).
Over an hour wait and two of our meals we're cold cut sandwiches (no cooking needed). My daughter got the kids pasta with butter (was served pasta with marinara that was ice cold).
We were late for an appointment because a quick lunch was almost a two hour experience. At no point did anyone come over to check on us. I had to go over and ask them if our order was going to be ready.
I would not recommend going here unless you carve out the entire afternoon and aren't really hungry when you arrive (you will be when the food arrives).
