Another good meal and cocktails at La Catrina. We got the big Parrillada for 2 and it was an amazing dish and an amazing value! And it was a good way to have a little bit of everything!

Good food. Great ambiance. Friendly service. No complaints. Portions were nothing to complain about. Coconut shrimp a bit on the oily and fried side but delicious nonetheless, after all it is a fried dish. Mole enchiladas were delicious and plentiful. We'll be back.

We came here for father’s day, and the food was INCREDIBLE! All of the meat was so flavorful, and the mole sauce was perfect. The drinks were all solidly good, and the prices were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Food was good but not hot. Server wasn’t personable. Seemed like he had too many tables and was running around constantly and hardly stopped to check on us. Loved the decorative atmosphere. Would definitely come back to try again because even tho the food was room temperature, it was flavorful

If I could give this place zero stars, I would sadly I have to give them one. The food was disgusting. Meat was overcooked. They asked me if I wanted my steak medium rare. I said yes they gave it to me over well done. It was hard as a rock me and my boyfriend are throwing up right now. Do not go to this place. I warn you I say it again do not go to this place. I warn you.

- amazing interior, custom painting and unique dinnerware and glassware
- good size tacos - an order of 3 is enough. Typically need 4 or 5 at the newer tacos places
- highly recommend the chicken tortilla soup! Best non-ramen soup I’ve ever had

Came here recently with friends. The drinks were average, a lot of ice. I tried the Brussel sprout tacos which were perfectly crisp. Service was a little slow, we were in the back room, wouldn’t recommend the back room it’s not the same vibe.

A must go experience! This newly renovated Mexican restaurant La Catrina is fantastic. Do not miss out! You’ll feel like you are walking into a lively restaurant in a town in Mexico. The entire place is beautifully decorated with bright colors, the wall murals are carefully and artistically crafted (by the owner himself!). The detail is incredible, even the ceiling painted and complete with items from Mexico (light fixtures, plates, decor, table art). The service is excellent, very friendly and extremely attentive. The food is simply the icing on this fantastic restaurant - delicious authentic cuisine with top notch ingredients and with beautiful presentation, and of course taste. The margaritas are meticulously prepared and are phenomenal as well. The restaurant exudes charm and a warm atmosphere. The owner is kind and it is clear he put love and care into creating his newest restaurant. Will be going back soon!

A Must-Visit Gem: La Catrina of Westchester
If you’re looking for a restaurant that delivers not just a meal but an experience, look no further than La Catrina of Westchester in Croton. At the heart of this exciting new chapter is Chef Edgar, a chef whose dedication to his craft is evident in every dish he creates.
Before setting out on his own, Chef Edgar was the executive chef at X2O, one of the region’s top fine-dining establishments. But like any true artist, he had a vision of creating something of his own. In 2020—during one of the most challenging times to start a business—he and his wife, Norma, took a leap of faith and opened Coco Taco in Sleepy Hollow. Their dedication, hard work, and undeniable talent quickly made it a local favorite, leading to the opening of a second location on Lake Ave in Yonkers. Now, they’ve expanded their reach once again with La Catrina of Westchester, bringing their signature blend of bold flavors and high-quality ingredients to Croton.
The moment you step inside, you can’t help but smile. The bright, bold décor sets the stage for a dining experience that is just as lively as it is delicious. The menu is a testament to Chef Edgar’s expertise, combining fresh, vibrant ingredients with masterful techniques that elevate traditional Mexican cuisine. Every bite bursts with rich, authentic flavors, from the perfectly seasoned tacos to the house-made salsas that pack just the right amount of heat.
And whatever you do, don’t leave without trying the mole. Deep, complex, and velvety smooth, it wraps around you like a long, comforting hug from Abuelita—warm, familiar, and made with love. You won’t regret it.
What truly sets La Catrina apart is the passion and heart behind every dish. You’re not just eating food—you’re experiencing the dream of a chef who has worked tirelessly to bring people together through his craft. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Chef Edgar’s cooking or discovering it for the first time, one thing is certain: this is a place you’ll want to come back to again and again.
So, if you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. Expect incredible food, warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. La Catrina of Westchester is more than a restaurant—it’s a celebration of perseverance, passion, and truly great food.

This was one of our favorite restaurants in Westchester, and was a go to for our family and friends. We went this evening and found out that they have new ownership and a new chef. Unfortunately it was simply awful; the atmosphere was garish, and freezing cold, the food was bland and mediocre at best. SO disappointing and sad.
