I just discovered this place off the main road in Deer Park. It's a different concept than other beer gardens. They have some beer on tap as well as a huge selection of bottles and cans. You can buy beer to go as well. They have a rotating menu of grilled cheese and meats sandwiches that are really good. I plan on coming back for years to come and will be looking to book a private party here.

Lets start with "Variety is the spice of life".
@ Hop Scotch that is what's being offered very time you walk through the door.
The variety available here will satisfy the desires of all craft beer, mead and grilled cheese aficionados.
It's well worth a visit !
Mark and his staff will go above and beyond to make you and everyone in your party feel right at home, they'll provide you an offering that you will most likely enjoy, just tell them what you like and they'll do their absolute best to accommodate.
Hopefully you'll take my advise and join us at Hop Scotch.

Nice place to stop for couples and/or groups.

Great taps that are constantly changing. One of the best grilled cheeses that I've had in the area. The place is cute with plenty of seating, inside and outside, lots of games, and their own book club. Mark, one of the owners, is very friendly and makes you feel like family. You should definitely stop in if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed!

Hidden gem! Found them through Groupon and I'm so happy I did! They have a great selection of beer and even wine if you're not too into beer. Their grilled cheese sandwiches are amazing. We got the Frenchie grilled cheese and it was the best. Looking forward to our next night out at Hops Scotch!

Great social spot with an amazing, endless rotation of mainstream and far out flavors made by craft, boutique, micro, and art-house makers, brewing unique beer, mead and malt offerings from around the world and locally; here on Long Island, the 5 boroughs, and New England; voted best beer selection on Long Island. Knowledgeable and friendly staff is always attentive and efficient, but does not hover. Casual environment and food; multiple winner of "Best Grilled Cheese" in Suffolk County, from a variety of standard and gourmet grilled cheese selections and specialty sandwiches; there's also always other shareable options. Indoor retail space and hang out environs are always welcoming, offer dozens of boardgame options or conversations with strangers-soon-to-be-friends. Warmer weather opens the outdoor area, voted "Best Beer Garden" and "Best Day Drinking" of Suffolk County. Family friendly, dogs welcome and the facilities are fully accessible. Parking is shared among multiple businesses and plentiful but not always available close to the door (+/-50yds) and accessible parking is limited (2 spaces). Be on the lookout for special events: local brewery "tap takeovers", trivia night, and others. Tiered membership levels with benefits. Gift cards available.

Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are always available, and the staff and kitchen are always willing to do what they can to meet your needs – that said, this is not an environment of strict segregation, so cooking surfaces, tools, and utensils may be used across all dishes, generally. Of course, staff will accommodate what they can through thorough cleaning/washing, but very strict diets or high-sensitivity allergens should be aware (although probably already vigilant). Everything is made from scratch, to order, so there are no issues of "omitting" a part of a dish or sandwich, but don't expect pre-combined ingredients to be parsed out – hypothetically, you can get a sandwich "hold the basil pesto sauce", but don't ask for the basil pesto to be made without the Parmesan or pinenuts – not that the staff doesn't WANT to accommodate you, it's just not realistic; be understanding, be patient, be kind.

Kid-friendliness: Hops Scotch is family-friendly, all around. Indoors there are low seating and table options that kids can easily access. Outdoors there are fixed-bench picnic tables in the beer garden area where kids (and dogs) always seem to enjoy themselves and the sunshine. Music is played indoors and outdoors, but generally congenial – I've never heard music or lyrics that were too egregious, mature, or offensive. Dozens of boardgames are available and range from skill sets for kids through adults (note: some games are truly 18+, so be aware of what they choose to pull from the shelf). Beverage options strongly favor alcoholic deliciousness, but nonalcoholic and kid-friendly sodas/drinks are available, you may have to ask about the options, they are not prominently displayed. The outdoor area is partially contained/partitioned, so while it has minimal risk of parking lot traffic, there is un-bordered access to a busy road; it should go without saying, keep an eye on the little ones. Not unlike ANY SOCIAL SETTING, there may be some degree of exposure to adult language, especially because this is a social venue serving alcohol, but patrons are always very respectful. This is not typical "bar", in that while it does invite young(er) people, it is not a "meat market" or sports bar; the crowd is usually a good mix of young, matured, and older folks, all there to have a good time.

Wheelchair accessibility: Hops Scotch is fully accessible. Indoors can get tight, especially during more crowded special events, but both proprietors and patrons are hugely respectful and accommodating. Outdoors, the beer garden area is graveled with a 4+ inch threshold to entry (to hold the gravel "in"), so access is comprom
