We stopped in during a Bills game to get a bite to eat. They had the game on several TVs throughout the restaurant, which was great. We were in the back in a very roomy booth.
They served fresh popcorn while we waited and were very attentive to refilling beverages.
We ordered the French dip, fingers, and a BLT. All the portion sizes were good-sized and the prices were reasonable. We would definitely come back to try other menu items.

The food is usually very good here but not tonight! We ordered the Jagerschnitzel which was one of tonights specials and I was really looking forward to it since Ive been craving German food lately. We had my grandson with us so the waitress said she would bring our beer cheese soup out with his kids meal. The soup came and was delicious. His chicken fingers took a few minutes longer but we could satisfy him with the bavarian pretzel that came with it. He got his meal and was happily eating while we waited for ours. After a long while I noticed that people who came in long after us were getting their meals and everyone in the room was eating but us. Another waitress overheard me say “what is taking so long?” and must have gone over to say something to our waitress (who we hadn’t seen in quite awhile now). Then we see her peak over at our table and 2 seconds later she brings our dinners out. I asked her to bring takeout containers right away because at this point my grandson is getting antsy. Im sure she forgot about us because our schnitzel were so tough I cant even cut it with my knife. When she came to ask how everything is, I told her Im disappointed the food is overcooked and showed her how I cant cut through it. She did ask if I wanted something else but we cant wait for another meal unless we want to witness a meltdown. She leaves again for what I presume is to prepare the bill and disappears again, I figured maybe shes adjusting something off the bill, but comes back and asks if we want anything else, dessert? OMG we just want to pay the bill & leave. We finally get the check and no adjustment nothing. We wont be coming back for quite awhile now. And just a side note - When there’s a 19 mo old at the table you need to get them in and out a little faster.

The Mrs and I stopped in because we were craving French onion soup. The soup was missing that bite it should have. We then both got the buffalo chicken salad. Im all about cost effective and low prices but this salad was kind of a joke. 0 iceberg lettuce, poor looking romaine, 3 cherry tomatoes, what made me laugh was the 5 full celery stalks in the salad. No cheese no cukes nothing. Literally the most basic looking salad I've ever had. Usually wouldn't do this to a local establishment but I was beyond disappointed and for 50 bucks for 2 subpar bowls of French onion soup and 2 salads I am beyond disappointed. The bartender was very nice, service was great.

Nice clean place with lots of room. Service was great!! But we were not impressed at all with what we ordered. My 85 year old mom ordered the smashed sirloin burger with sautéed onions, cheese, which we paid extra for, and their special sauce on brioche bun, which sounds delicious right?, well she got a thin, thin burger that wasn't big enough to cover the bun, cheese was not visible and a few diced cooked onions on top. Needless to say, it was very disappointing. My chicken salad wrap was nothing special. It was cut in 2, looked nice, but 1 half was mostly lettuce and tomato with some chicken salad. The other half was mostly chicken salad, so some wrapped wrong. I don't like to complain and it was a shame that we were not impressed, my mother said we sould have gone to mickey D's, ugh! I would like to just recommend focusing on foods, to make a bigger impression, to match such a beautiful place with great staff.

Food is awesome and I love coming here with my family but I REALLY REALLY wish they would serve the Dill Pickle Egg Rolls more often. Once or twice a month isn’t enough, especially when other kinds of egg rolls are served multiple times a week, or at least make it a “secret menu item” where it can be available if you ask even if it’s not on the menu

Walking into French Pub in 2025 felt like Marcus Freeman himself was holding the door open and whispering, “Welcome to glory, soldier.” I sat down, ordered a beer, French onion soup, and pizza logs, and suddenly realized I wasn’t just in Amherst—I was in the middle of a live scrimmage between my taste buds and destiny.
The beer hit me like CJ Carr dropping a 50-yard bomb straight into Jaden Greathouse’s hands. Cold, crisp, and perfectly timed like a third-down conversion to Jordan Faison. I swear when I took my first sip, I heard Xavier Watts in the background yelling, “LOCKDOWN!” while guarding my happiness like it was a deep ball in the Fiesta Bowl.
Then the French onion soup arrived, steaming like Howard Cross breaking through the O-line. The cheese stretch was as long as Benjamin Morrison’s interception return, and every spoonful had more grit than Jack Kiser on a blitz. It wasn’t just soup—it was a goal-line stand in a bowl, with onions caramelized like the patience of Audric Estime waiting to hit the perfect gap in 2023 (yeah, I time-traveled my hunger backwards).
But the pizza logs—oh, sweet baby Jerome Bettis, the pizza logs. They were so good I half-expected Marcus Freeman to challenge Miami to a rematch right there in the dining room just to celebrate. Crispy outside, molten cheese inside, like Nolan Ziegler flying downhill and blowing up a screen play. I dunked one into the marinara and swore I saw Mitchell Evans spiking the sauce like it was a touchdown in South Bend.
The vibe of the French Pub in 2025 was less “local bar” and more “Notre Dame practice facility where God himself signs autographs.” The walls felt like they were painted with grit, determination, and maybe a little hot sauce. Every bite I took echoed the energy of Joe Otting pancaking a defender, and every sip of beer reminded me of Riley Leonard scrambling out of the pocket with the poise of a man who also appreciates affordable appetizers.
By the end of my meal, I was convinced the French Pub kitchen staff were secretly the Notre Dame offensive line—moving as one unit, executing flawlessly, protecting my hunger like Blake Fisher protecting CJ Carr. The bartender? Might’ve been Jaden Mickey in disguise, intercepting my thirst every single time before it became a turnover.
Final thought: French Pub in 2025 isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a dynasty. A cathedral of beer, soup, and pizza logs. If Notre Dame wins the national championship this year (which they will—sorry Miami, sit down), they should host the parade right through the dining room.
Five stars. French Pub 2025 forever. Play Like A Champion Today, Eat Like A Champion Tonight.

Got the Weck and wings. Terrible. Half the sandwich had no meat. Roast beef was not good quality. Wings were tiny and over cooked. They have new ownership. If this is the new standard then you won’t see me again.
