We tried several varieties of bagels and cream cheese. They were all great. The scallion and loganberry cream cheese were so delicious. The Buffalo sandwich was awesome too.
Tried bagel jar for the first time. Ordered a sausage egg and cheese sandwich on the sea salt bagel. Bagel was very good but egg had no flavor and sausage flavor was just bad. Will give the place another chance but will just get bagel with spread next time.

Many reviews hyped The Bagel Jar up as a place that they traveled out of their way to visit. 15 mins to an hour drive just to have their bagels! They are a 15 minute walk from my house so I figured I would try it today. “Mid” would be the most fitting word to describe my experience. First off, once I arrived I ordered “the tater” and some scallion cream cheese at the front desk. I felt forced into tipping while checking out, even though this was take out. While I sat down and waited for my food, I noticed fruit flies hovering around me and the pick up area which I had to keep swatting away. We have nothing good in Derby and the bagels are decent so I would love this business to stay, improve and thrive! However, there is no wow factor, and $19 for a tater tot on a bagel and cream cheese is insane. Especially considering the flies and the forced tip.

I ordered my food to go, so I can't speak directly on the service. However, when I picked up my food, everyone was pleasant.
I got a breakfast sandwich on a bagel and it was great! The bagel was perfectly toasted and I love that you can customize everything you want on it.
I also got the seasonal Coco Caramel Latte iced - I am usually a plain black coffee girly - but was tempted by the option and I'm glad I went with it because it was so good.
