The place was there for over 30 years… Problem was they remodeled in the mid 90’s and never looked back. Some of the best bagels in the area. Unfortunately, nothing lasts for ever.. The place closed in June 2023 - at that point while the bagels were still good the place was a dump. Nothing lasts forever. I can’t find a comparable bagel anywhere near by.. First Class, Bagel Boss etc etc. They’re good but they’re no Dix Hills Bagel.. This location is supposed to become “Everything Bagels” second location - original being in Commack. Hoping things turn out okay..

Love this place, kept the prices low, yes a little out dated, however not unclean, just well used, quick tune up, great staff, always a smile

They are Closed! Drove by today thinking they were open after a renovation. Damn it feels like several months. Best bagels East of the Nassau border. There was nobody working today and the place was shut down. It's looking good. They're locks and cream cheese is delish. Just a memory now.

Service could be slow sometimes, but hey it's a long line deal with it. They had great bagels. Been coming here for only 10+ years. Recently they say they're closed for repairs, but all of the equipment taken out. I don't think they're coming back. Going to miss them if they're gone. Great bagels, great cream cheese, great egg sandwiches.

This place used to be a good bagel shop. Stopped for a visit today and the store was disgustingly filthy and in dire need of cleaning and a renovation. Short on help I spent 10 minutes on a short line without even being acknowledged. Ended up walking out.

This was my Dad's go to place for so long. I randomly decided to start going there again. Mainly because I've started taking my Grandma to her cancer treatments, and she likes to have egg sandwiches as a way of rewarding herself when she gets through a treatment. To make a long story short, I went one morning, told the man behind the counter my order and he walked into the back to make it. Less than 15 seconds later I asked him if I'd mentioned that one sandwich needed to have scrambled eggs. He gave me an attitude, stated he'd already put the eggs on the grilled and then asked if they "needed to be scrambled"....I've never heard someone in the food and service industry ask a costumer if the food "had" to be prepared the way the customer asked for it to be made. I should've replied with "yes, my grandmother at her cancer treatment is waiting for an egg sandwich with scrambled eggs". But in an attempt to just get the sandwiches and leave, I kept my mouth shut. I've read many reviews on here and it seems that many people have had an issue with the same man. On top of that, the place is exceptionally filthy. I'm not ignorant I know 99% of food establishment are far less clean than we'd like them to be. But the walls are literally caked with dust and cobwebs. It hangs all over the menu displays that are directly above all the food. And the grill / kitchen is behind a plastic curtain so God only knows what it looks like back there. Long Island is full of bagel places / delis. My suggestion is to find another one. This one is not worth the attitude and possible food poisoning.

I have been a loyal customer of this establishment since my parents moved to Dix Hills back in the late 80s. Even after we moved I have traveled from Kings Park to this bagel shop. Their bagels are simply the best. They have phenomenal spreads as well!

Food was really good and the people were respectful. Really not sure why their reviews are so low

I go there 2x a week, It's got A great patina and the menu hasn't changed in 20 years so you know the food has to be good. It's a great place for someone on the go who doesn't want to deal with the fuss of the fancy bagel shops up the road. This place is all about efficiency the way a bagel shop in New York should be.

You gotta change it up. Do not eat the same thing everyday. Some things you have to try: their vegetable creamcheese, strawberry creamcheese, chicken salad, egg salad, white fish salad (salty) and try their pastrami, egg, and Swiss on a toasted plain bagel (worth it). Enjoy!

Best garlic bagels I've ever had in my life and service is always quick

Very friendly and good service. I was there on a Sunday morning and as the customers trickled in (maybe it was caused by the nice weather?) but there was a happy & friendly ambiance in the air with smiles and laughter. My everything bagel was jammed with a tasty omelet I could only eat half at a time. Definitely a great little place!

Great bagels. Listen to their recommendations - everything they make is great. Their chocolate chip cookies are homemade and fabulous. I judge bakeries by their croissants and these croissants are wonderful.
