Everything about The Cookery was fantastic. Started with a spicy margarita which was excellent for a warm spring night. We shared the spiedini appetizer special which was very good, but the lamb bolognese was off the charts. If you are in the Dobbs Ferry area, run don't walk!
We had a very subpar experience at the Cookery. We were excited to try it after hearing so many great things. Having lived in Chicago for many years, we were blessed to be surrounded by amazing restaurants (both mom and pop and Michelin starred fine dining). The waitress started the whole experience off on a sour note. She couldn't even pretend to be pleasant or smile and just seemed annoyed to have to wait on us. We arrived for Sunday brunch with our kids and did not realize it was a three course set menu. We decided to go with the flow and try it nonetheless. The food simply was disappointing. My husband's purgatory eggs came out with bread that was so burnt to be blackened. He couldn't believe the kitchen sent the dish out this way. My son ordered his burger medium and it was well- done. So disappointing because how hard is it to cook a burger medium? The fried chicken was better but also overcooked. We would have let the waitress know but the food took FOREVER to arrive so we didn't want to have to wait another hour for the food to come out correctly. At that point we just wanted to leave as quickly as possible and forget the whole experience. The only positives: my sangria was nice and my son said the meatball app and lemon cannolis were good. This was such a disappointing experience. Two hundred dollars down the drain.
This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants. The food is excellent, and the chef is both consistent and creative. The servers are friendly and attentive. I am looking forward to returning again soon.
We waited for an hour and half for our entrees and as a consolation were given two desserts for free that we didn't want. They should have done better.
Every meal at the Cookery wants us to come back- the focus on flavor and quality preparation really come through
We were there for Mother's Day. It was the best meal we've ever had at the Cookery - and that's quite a statement!
A creative and delicious brunch menu. My wife and I loved it! We plan to revisit it to try other items on the menu.
From the host to the waitress, vibe, and food. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The food was incredible. I recommend this place to everyone.
caeser salad with preserved lemon was delicious. Meatball is so freaking tender! Pork osso bucco is so tender but with a crisp exterior!
This review is long overdue. The Cookery was a listed vendor at the venue where we hosted our baby shower, and after visiting the restaurant, we were immediately impressed by both the food and service. Since catering our event, we've returned many times, and the food is consistently top-notch. This is easily one of our favorite restaurants. The menu and flavors are perfectly balanced, and the customer service is excellent. If you're in the Westchester area, I highly recommend dining at The Cookery. And don’t miss the specials!!

Been wanting to eat at this restaurant for a while. Decided to go with friends wasn’t sure what to eat a few choices in my head. Went with the steak dinner which was very pricey, but figured can’t mess a good expensive steak up.went with the meatballs for appetizers which were very good. But the steak had to be the worse steak I ever actually had. No bread no salad no nothing. Very very high priced place for what you get can’t say much more than that. I’m sorry I never had to do a review before. But I was that disappointed

We came here the other night for our first night without kids in a long time. We have eaten here since The Cookery opened, had a party here, and rented The Doughnation Food truck. So clearly, we are fans.
However, last night made me feel like we aren’t missing out. Though the staples are consistently great, pork osso bucco, meatballs, and stickabutta, the menu has become boring. The quality is evident in the charcuterie board, but nothing on the menu screams “That looks special, I want to try that”. I still think about the beef heart dish I had on bone marrow garlic crostini from years ago. Nothing current comes close.
The bartender was great and didn’t rush us through our meal. They need to adjust how they write the specials board as there was confusion over dessert. It looked like there was a blueberry cheesecake option because the sauce listed on top was much lighter, making you think the pound cake was a separate dessert. Apparently, it was all one thing. Finally, whoever was messing with the playlist, needs to stop. The music kept stopping and starting, changing genres, and repeating artists. It was like two staff were fighting over songs. I miss the Gen X playlist that ranged from Pearl Jam to Salt n Pepper. We would probably only go back when craving specific staple dishes.
