Nasty wings. Poor service. No Indian food like in other reviews. We stayed in the dreadful Clarion hotel. After walking around the lakefront and checking out the other restaurants, we decided let’s reluctantly try the in hotel restaurant Steelbound as they have Indian food per the reviews here on Google. They do not, it’s all bar food. I’m assuming the Indian food was from an old menu or past owners or something. Had we known that, we would have tried a restaurant around the pier. I first ordered a cocktail that was advertised on the wall near their bar. The waitress was confused, then had to see if they even could make that drink 🚩 We ordered a kids chicken tender, a pizza bread made with in house dough, and a small order of wings. When we asked what the BBQ Blue Ballz sauce was she replied BBQ with some blueberry flavor but she’s not sure. After ordering we waited, and waited, never getting my cocktail. Watching others go to the bar and order drinks. Seeing others food and drink go out that arrived well after us while never checking on us. Finally after grabbing the waitresses attention an eternity later I ask about my cocktail. Oh! She immediately brings it out. So, it was made and left sitting, ice diluting the drink at the bar forever. When the food finally comes out, the kids chicken tenders and fries are okay. My kid said the tenders were great and the fries were just ok. The pizza bread was hot, fresh, did taste like house made dough, but like nothing special about it. Like a 5 out of 10. Now the wings… oh Lordy. They looked burnt but were lukewarm at most and soggy. The BBQ blue ball sauce was only blueberry jam basically. Nothing BBQ about it. Was honestly gross. In no world should that ever be combined with wings. Stained our fingers blue, because it was just blueberries. The wings themselves were nasty, like very gristly, fatty, and mushy after biting into them. We only ordered 5 wings to share and we only ate 3 between us. They were either made immediately and sat forever, or old and microwaved, whatever it was, just nasty. Hideous. The waitress asked how everything was, we replied not that great. She just turned and walked off. ❤️ I’m always leery of eating at most in hotel restaurants and this was a shining example of why. We were on a trip that spanned from Pittsburg to Toronto and this was by far the worst restaurant experience of the trip, hell, I’ll say our worst experience in years. If we knew there was no Indian food we wouldn’t have even gone. Heck, maybe there was and our amazing server just didn’t bring that particular menu out.
Our waitress was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice. I ordered the bourbon bbq wings which are 10 for $10.00 on Thursday which is a great price considering they cost $2.00@ other days. Wings were large but the taste of the sauce wasn’t to my liking. Others in our group had the same opinion even thou they had other sauces. Just sharing my opinion.
This place is terrible, gave it a couple of chances, we come by boat, bartender, same one, horrible, does not want to be there, need some older ones that want to work and be nice. It's a shame, bar itself is nice. But that's about it.
This restaurant is attached to a hotel. The service was mediocre at best. Food was also packed up inproperly. Staff was unapologetic about our negative experience. However, I changed my review from one star to four stars because management called to apologize for our poor experience and offered a refund for the food. I would give this place a second try. Hopefully on our next visit there is a different bartender on duty.
The food at this place is incredible. I love going to Clarions for Indian cuisine, but the service is terrible. The servers are rude and don't seem to care if you're waiting for your meal. Once the food arrives, no one checks in to see if you need anything. The only reason I keep coming back is because the chef not only prepares amazing food but also makes it exactly the way I request. If it weren't for him and his attention to detail, I wouldn't return.

Horrible...the website said they had a vegetarian option, got there to find out that the only option was boil in a bag type of pea paleo rice for my friend. They were out of bacon for my sandwich I wanted to originally order, There was dog hair in my appetizer, there was food caked on my friends silverware. The service was substandard. Don't waste your time here.
Visited them late. Had fewer options for food. Also there is no vegetarian menu unlike what google shows. Food quality is decent.

Stayed at adjoining hotel 3 different weeks this year. Experience basically the same each time. A sports bar with only the sports on local broadcast tv. Bartenders don’t know how to change TV channels. Unbelievably warm or cold in bar area. Restaurant food items, which are good when they have them, are often unavailable. Expensive draft beer. But, Staff unfailingly pleasant and polite.

I went to this restaurant 3 weeks ago and there are no vegetarian options except for salad. I asked if they can make something off menu and they said no. They are listed online as having vegetarian food so it was not only disappointing but frustrating. I went somewhere else to eat.

We brought our Labor Department group of 12 to this place that opens at noon for lunch. But they must not have told anyone else they were open as no diners arrived during the time we were there. I had their special of 10 chicken wings for $10 and they were very tasty. My wife tried the Chicken Malai Tikka and she said it was good. Our waitress was pleasant but the food did take awhile to be served.

This place had no vegetarian selections except for salad. They wouldn't make anything off menu. We went somewhere else
If I were going to strictly rate this establishment on the Indian cuisine and nothing else, it would get 5 stars every time. Unfortunately, that’s not the way this works. I’m a local in this town, and wanted to love and enjoy this place from the beginning. You can give a restaurant a grace period after opening to work out the kinks and figure out what works, what does not. Sadly, I don’t think these owners are even present enough to know the difference between those two things. You can consistently expect bad service, even though I don’t believe that to be the server’s fault. They seem to have a couple of dedicated employees that really try to accommodate the guests, but are perpetually under staffed. The menu keeps shrinking, and as a professional chef, I’m going to guess that is because they cannot keep a Chef in the kitchen. Answer: Dumb down the menu. Wrong! How about you hire competent people that know how to run a restaurant? There had to have been a sizeable investment in creating this space. It’s quite comfortable and has a friendly feel. It also has the most incredible view of Lake Erie. The only thing that’s lacking is consistently good food and service. In my view, you can forgive a dated interior if the food and service are good, but if you’ve got a lovely space and neither good food or good service, what’s the point? I’ll order the Indian food take out.
Absolutely delicious, helpful staff, and lovely setting. Come for the delicious Indian food, stay for the view of the lake.
Edit: They got rid of the vegetarian options. The menu overall has been reduced to just a few offerings.
We are frequent customers and come only for the Indian cuisine. Our visit Friday was not good. At 6pm the server informed us they were out of tandoori chicken already. Our chicken dish was extremely old or over cooked (butter chicken dish) and the garlic naan was undercooked and soggy (very clearly noticeable). The table next to use had to wait forever to order and even their food came incomplete. We noticed the change in quality over the last two visits. We rarely complain and tend to tell everyone we know about how good the Indian food is here. But over the last few months we have noticed changes in quality. Ingredients being cut from the Indian recipes to keep costs down, etc. We hoped under new owner this wouldn’t affect the place. When asked by server how we liked our food we decided to be honest. She mentioned our complaints to the chef and he responded proudly on his quality and didn’t offer any refund. The she oddly ask for my name to give the kitchen and advised next time to ask that they be sure my chicken is fresh!!! That remark clearly didn’t make sense to me. In the end, We left behind most of our leftovers; which we never do!! It was very disappointing to see they couldn’t modify the final bill. Next visit if quality is poor again we will be sure to return it immediately and leave to avoid paying high cost for authentic cuisine that is becoming inconsistent. Note: I also mentioned to server that our last takeout order was very bad too. Our biggest ask to management is to “own” your mistakes when quality is poor, don’t leave it on the customers pocket!!

Our experience was mixed. I had curry chicken which was OK. You had to order rice separately and there were no vegetables available. My wife had a Ceasar salad. You had to order croutons separately for $3. The chicken was dry like wood. There was barely any dressing. She asked for extra which we never got. The service was super slow, and our server never checked on us. We were never offered another drink. Probably won't go here again. Just not worth it.
