I contacted the owners of Poolville Country Store to host a 40th surprise birthday celebration for my daughter. I definitely made the right decision choosing this restaurant! From planning the menu to helping facilitate secret guest parking, every detail was taken care of. The place is beautiful with tons of old world charm. Our service was excellent and food was absolutely OUTSTANDING!! Thank you Poolville County Store for making our special evening magical.

On Sunday, I met my dear friend for our annual holiday lunch. This year she made reservations at this lovely restaurant! We both had heard such great things about it and wanted to try it!!! Sundays are reservations only and the only time they are open during the day. It was located in a beautiful old house, with its enormous fireplace and traditional design. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the owner, Roger (I hope I have his name correct) who took our coats and escorted us to our table by the fireplace. They had a variety of dishes to choose from and were very accommodating for any special requests. Before our meals came, he brought us 2 homemade delicious warmed donut holes rolled in cinnamon and sugar, which melted in your mouth! I ordered something I have never had, polenta fries with a spicy sauce, which we both shared and a Crabmeat Eggs Benedict. The eggs came with a side of tossed greens, slightly seasoned! My friend ordered the Omelette. Our meals were huge and scrumptious! I definitely had leftovers! We even ordered a dessert to share, which was 2 cream puffs filled with different homemade ice cream, topped with 2 different types of sauces: chocolate and caramel! What made this such an amazing experience, was the service! We were the only ones there on this Sunday morning and they open no matter how many reservations they get! We were treated like royalty! This restaurant is a few miles outside the Hamilton area and definitely worth the drive, not only for the incredibly delectable fresh foods, but the whole experience!

The service was professional and pleasant. The food needed a little more flavor, found myself adding salt and pepper to everything. The meat and pasta were cooked perfectly. The haddock chowder was delicious. Only wine and beer as, no liquor license due to proximity to church.Parking: Right out the front door off the street.

The food is just incredible. All our tables meals were some of the best food I've ever had in the area and possibly ever. Ossobuco was so amazing, the beef of the day had a coffee rub and it was great, the homemade ravioli was fantastic, handmade pasta as well. I got the catch of the day, fried perch and it was perfectly fried, crispy batter, juicy on the inside.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner last evening, and have had consistently spot-on meals here over the 12 years since we've lived in Central New York. I truly believe anyone/everyone who enjoys food should find a way to dine here on a regular basis, even if only once a season. The efforts the chef-owners put into locally sourcing (and growing) the ingredients are complemented by a thoughtfully curated wine list; the fact that this establishment exists in the wonderful middle-of-nowhere is a clear example of why dining in CNY is an amazingly unparalleled experience. As a transplanted Manhattanite, there may be a small part of me that misses the varied dining options at any hour any day of the week, but none of that is even a thought when we are en route to this destination.

Excellent arugula, house cured salmon salad and roasted halibut with vegetable ragu. My husband enjoyed the Caesar salad and vegetable grain bowl. We will be back.

Enjoyed it. My wife's great grandmother worked here when it was an actual store so there's a bit of nostalgia when we visit. Food and service were on point. Steak was cooked perfect, potatoes good and squash was cooked well. Good ambiance. Great waitstaff.
