Island Poke - East Meadow

The menu might appear to be lit up above the counter but what it fails to tell you is that you CAN make your own bowl like their competitors.
The young lady behind the counter didn't offer me that info even when I asked if there was any replacement for white rice in the bowls. I only knew because a man asked me which sauce to choose for his bowl ( as he showed me a little sheet of paper with all these bowl options )
No signs anywhere people. FYI.... there are trays on a counter to the LEFT of the register that have high sides which are hiding the little sheets of paper to fill out for your own bowls. ?
Unfortunately, I had already ordered. The young lady behind the counter just stood silent staring at me as I read their menu.
Even when I asked her WHY the option of brown rice, lettuce or zucchini isn't listed ANYWHERE on their menu, she didn't share the list hidden on the trays with me. ? Of course none of these things should be hidden from customers. No guessing games with their competition.
The spicy Tuna bowl I ordered was good. Nothing exceptional.
Btw,..... use another restroom elsewhere. Worst, thin, toilet paper I've seen since my trip to Borneo, Malaysia.

First time stopping into this location. Also the first time going into a Poke establishment and they make it in the back instead of right in front of you…. The bowl was good but they barely put any sauce which I would have caught if they prepared it in front of you. Still enjoyed the meal.

Hole in the wall ramen/poke shop. They also have rice bowls which are really good. Ive never had a problem with the food here it’s always been great for takeout and for dine in. Lots of available seating, only thing I could say is if the staff could be a little more friendy.

I feel like I’ve given this place so many chances. They are constantly getting my delivery order incorrect, but I keep giving them more chances. Finding a piece of plastic in my food really takes the cake this time around. Come on guys….

It’s a hole in the wall ramen shop??‍♂️ it’s not gourmet, it’s not straight off the boat, but if you’re hungry looking for a good price on a quick Japanese meal worth having, this is the place.
