At first we were the only ones, service of course excellent sweet server. Fresh cut flowers at every table! We started with potato pancakes which was eh… not too thrilled but the baked clams made up for them they were delicious little reminiscent of the older Pine Grove days… I had the Beef stroganoff, hot tasty with fresh red cabbage beef was tender, pasta hot and buttery. Husband had sauerbraten said it was good( man of few words he’s German?)Nice portions and nice sized pours for wine and beer! Music by Silver Rose Duo was an added treat and was a pleasure to listen to which kept us there longer!❤️ We really enjoyed ourselves just wondering why there wasn’t more people there?! Overall great meal atmosphere!

My significant other and I went to The Pine Grove Inn on Thursday before seeing “In The Heights” at Gateway Playhouse. We have eaten there a number of times since Michael (the new owner) took it over. The staff has always been super nice and helpful and the food is always great! This past time I had the Weiner Schnitzel (veal), which is always my “go to” and my significant other had the sauerbraten, but best of all, they had a “four course meal” (appetizer each, soup each, entree and a dessert each) for $53. I was told they were going to add a glass of beer to the offer. That’s a real “home-run”! Enjoyed everything we had and still had to bring some home of the entrees and most of the desserts! Will definitely continue going there!!

My wife and I went on Monday, 2 days before Valentines Day as it was far more convenient as I work late. It was not busy on a Monday night but we had wanted to go to Pine Grove Inn for German food for some time. This afforded us a seat right next to the fireplace- very romantic. Pine Grove Inn looks very European, clean lines, tasteful artwork and they have added a Tea Room for High Tea.The menu covers a good deal of variety but it was Beef Sauerbraten, my Italian grandfathers favorite. My wife cajoled our sever/owner into a custom plate of German specialties. We started with 2 delicious German beers and shortly our food came, it was exactly what I wanted with red Sauerkraut, potato pancakes, and apple sauce, my wife had bratwurst, white sauerkraut, potato dumplings and sour cream. The beef was tender and flavorful. Having been in Germany many times, I can say both authentic and delicious!Apple Streudel to go, because we were full. Streudel was fab too.I will be back!

Gross. Have ppl who work there living upstairs and it smells disgusting. I will never eat or drink there again as long as present “chef” and owner are there. Beware. You are not getting what you pay for. I do not work for the tea room I used to work for pine grove inn!! I have actual proof with witnesses. I am also now going to call the town and report the residencies

Beautiful, quiet and secluded restaurant on the creek in East Patchogue. Moderately priced and expertly cooked and served German cuisine. We held a cozy, fireside family gathering and the staff were very attentive and respectful. The chef came out to introduce himself and vist. I would definitely recommend The Pine Grove Inn to anyone looking for a real restaurant experience.

I had dinner here with some friends recently and we all felt the service was excellent!! Everyone enjoyed their dinner, one had the lobster mac and cheese, someone else had the sauerbraten and a couple others had the beef stroganoff, which was delicious!! The appetizers and desserts were also very good! The ambiance was comfortable, warm and quiet on the night we were there. Considering it was rainy most of the day, it was nice to sit and relax with friends without feeling like we were being rushed out the door! The waiter, Giovanni, couldn't do enough for us and was so accommodating!! The owner even made it a point to come out and check on us and to see if we enjoyed our meals!! Yes, everything, everywhere all at once (or so it seems) has gotten expensive, but even the price of food we have to prepare ourselves seems to have gone out of control! This establishment has been serving the Patchogue area for a very long time! They have struggled quite a lot after being flooded out by Hurricane Sandy, when they had to close for a few years for renovations. After they reopened, they then had to close again because of COVID. They continue to try and please their customers and serve the Patchogue area, as best they can. I would encourage you to visit them again if you haven't in a while, even if your last experience there wasn't as epic as it used to be, the owner and staff are really trying to make it work!!
