Grew up in Penfield but only make it back once a year. We visited last year and loved all the food. Tonight must have been an off night. Most of the food lacked seasoning. Even my 89 year old mom who NEVER uses salt added salt to hers. The crab appetizer was good. The chicken vegetable soup needed seasoning. The place was good Italian good. The service was like your neighbor welcoming you in especially Isabella. Before even saying hello she asked two questions and it was like she knew everything about me. There was a nice elderly couple that could be your cool grandparents at the bar. Food was excellent especially the mussels and the shrimp primavera.
This is now called Lucca's. Food was great. We both had eggplant parm and instead of penne we both got gnocchi. Mine was with pesto, the other was Alfredo. Both very good. Alfredo was not salty like most places. We splurged and got raspberry cheesecake and peanut butter pie. We ate just the cheesecake and it was very good. The raspberry sauce was very tasty. I recommend this place
