James & Main is truly a standout dining experience! Located conveniently across from the East Rockaway train station, this cozy spot combines an inviting atmosphere with an exceptional menu that caters to all tastes. From the moment you walk in, the warm ambiance and friendly staff make you feel right at home. Mike behind the bar is extremely friendly and accommodating.
The food is nothing short of incredible. My favorite is the steak, always cooked exactly how I like it, and the many apps, including tuna tartare and eggplant and zucchini bites. Every dish is quality. Their cocktail menu is also fantastic— I highly recommend their secret menu Pickle Martini will a drop of chili oil, exquisite.
Service is always top-notch. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure you have a great dining experience.
If you’re in the area, James & Main is a must-visit. There is room outside on a stunning deck overlooking the water or in their cozy dining room and/or bar. I always take my friends here and they also love it.
Wheelchair accessibility: Though there is a gravel parking lot, if you get dropped off at the entrance, there is flat brick laid out in front of the main door and the rest is flat from there.

We celebrated our daughter’s Sweet 16 Birthday at James and Main. Food was great. Service was excellent and Danny who helped plan our event made it stress free. Bar tenders and wait staff worked their butts of making sure we all were taken care of especially the extra attention they gave my daughter and her friends. We had access to the bar and the back tent area for 60pp. Plenty of room with a back drop and Photo Booth area. Definitely recommend this place and will be back.

We hosted a dinner for 35 at James and Main, and it was perfect! The food was incredible. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure our group had everything we needed. The decor is modern and inviting, creating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. It was the ideal setting for our event, and we’ll definitely be back!

Just want to thank Danny, Eric and the staff at James and Main for a fabulous party for my husband. The food and service were top notch. All the guests were raving about everything. We were under the tent and were able to sit and chill in the outside bar area thanks to the amazing October weather we have been having. I highly recommend having an event there!

Absolutely loved this spot! Went here for a private gathering with some friends and the experience was wonderful! All of the staff were friendly and attentive and absolutely loved the atmosphere & decor, very classic and gives “old money” vibes to me! I had the lasagna with braised beef & burrata and it was to die for, I wish I had more! Also loved the cheesecake & mousse for dessert. The owner is passionate about his craft and the experience - couldn’t recommend the spot more!

I was really excited to try to place out but was extremely disappointed. I’ve been to many upscale restaurants and I’ve never sent food back, but the filet mignon we ordered was burnt inedible and looked disgusting. The burnt section was also faced down as if we were not going to notice it. It looked as if it was plated by a two year old. I’ve had better steak at Applebees. The mussels I ordered had no flavor. The wait staff was nice but definitely lacked experience. They forgot our utensils twice. That is not how high end steak house operates. If I’m going to spend over $250.00 for 2 people it would not be at this place. A huge disappointment.

Can't recommend this spot enough! Everything from the drinks, dinner, dessert and service were top notch! They have a great selection of cocktails, including some delicious seasonal ones (loved the Hocus Pocus)! The appetizers and meals were amazing and we absolutely loved the bananas foster for dessert. Everyone was super friendly and helpful and the restaurant is a great addition to Easter Rockaway.
