First time here and trying the place out. Had Mexican Pork tacos and served with beans and rice. All mains come with beans and rice. The beans your smooth used to being more chucky. Was late for the lunch choices and it's over at 2. Great lunch prices and a variety of meals to choose from. There are drinks imported from Mexico and the normal fountain soda is Pepsi product.

Very disappointed with our meal, hoping it was because it was take out and not dine in? we both ordered two different steak meals and the steak wasn’t sliced like we expected but we were fine with that. but they topped both dishes off with a mountain of sautéed onions. we both got the guacamole salad which was included with our dish, but only received one, the guac tasted like straight up lemon juice, almost like when you make guac and put lemon juice on it to make it last longer, but it was so sour, probably not intended it happens. definitely want to give them another chance but next time dine in, we have only heard great things so i’m thinking this was just a fluke

It was OK. There's better Mexican food at other establishments. Waitress was good but was the only server on what turned out to be a busy evening. Three ladies at a nearby table seemed to think that everyone in the restaurant should hear their conversation... Food was good but not great. Atmosphere was sorta cafeteria-ish. Very brightly lit.

Moving away from south Texas again meant I knew it was unlikely I'd find Mexican food I wanted to eat away from my house. Funnily enough, it was a 'bad' review of this place that made me want to try it - complaining of a lack of lettuce and tomato on the steak tacos and "too much cilantro." My interest was piqued, that sounded exactly right. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and ordered way too much food. The staff were clearly busy preparing DoorDash orders and still made us a priority while getting those orders out the door. The inside looks like every third spot in south Texas - down to the yellow-orange wall color that I hate but think of as the sign of a good spot (other good colors for this: a slightly too purple pink, a slightly too harsh mint). The food did not disappoint. I could have used some hand-made corn tortillas but the staff and I talked about how those just aren't as popular here and it makes keeping up on the masa not as worthwhile as it is in places where folks expect corn as the norm. Stop in, it's worth it!

Food is decent, hence the 2 stars. Nothing out of this world though. The service is another story. Came in, their booths need the seats changed, it's impossible to sit on them comfortably. We had to put the tables together ourselves, which was awkward. Then we noticed the folks who came 20 min after us getting g their food, while we sat and waited. Went to talk to the waitress only to find out their food was made before ours because they're regulars or friends of the owners. Absolutely unacceptable and disappointing. They need to update the place and get a manager on premises asap, or they won't stay in business.

We've been wanting to try Tulum and finally went last Friday for dinner. The restaurant was not busy - three other parties were there, only one of which had received their orders. I noted that several empty tables had not had the dirty dishes cleared. That should have given me a hint about how the service would be.The lone waitress seated us immediately but took almost 20 minutes to take our order. We then sat and waited, and waited, and waited for our tacos to come out. The table of six that was seated before was finally served so we figured we would get our food shortly after them. Nope. Other diners that came in and placed orders after us started to get their meals as we continued to wait. When we were finally served our dinners there was a party of two who were there before us that still hadn't been served. I bet they waited close to an hour for their food.It was clear that Tulum was understaffed, but that's no excuse for not serving diners in the order that they placed their orders.Oh yes, the food (tacos de carne asada and tacos birria, beans and rice). It was on par with other local Mexican restaurants. Not great. Not terrible. There's no reason for us to dine at Tulum again anytime soon.

By far the best Mexican food in Syracuse. Worth the wait, every time. Highly recommend.

Great casual spot for Mexican food. The queso fundido was the best we've had! Very good service.
