We had a custom cake made here and they were so awesome when we called to order it. When we came to pick it up, it was perfect! The same day, we ordered some sandwiches from the sub shop and the gentleman making our sandwiches was so friendly! We really appreciate Wegmans! Always great service and great selection!

A month ago I called the pharmacy at Wegmans on James St to fill a prescription. I made sure to tell them it was a new prescription and what the name of the medicine was, from a new doctor, and I no longer have insurance so I would be paying out of pocket. The first price they gave me was way more expensive than it was supposed to be, so I told them I was going to call the doctor to see why it was so expensive. Almost as soon as I get off the phone with the doctor, I get a call back from wegmans saying "oh yeah you were right, it's actually only this amount" Cool. I go to pick it up the day I am told it will be ready (a few hours later just to give them some extra time to get it ready) and they don't have it. So I have to make another trip to one of the busiest stores in the middle of the pandemic. Not cool. So a month passes, because I like to fill my prescriptions early so I am prepared, and I need to start the new pills. I open them up, and they are the wrong pills. Not just a different name, but the same medicine, which happens sometimes. They were a completely different medicine. When I call to complain I am offered no help except a refund. They say I can't get the correct medicine without getting a new script called in. Why would I need a new prescription called in when I was given the wrong medicine? I am then told that the pills I was given were from a script all the way back in December, from a different doctor, under insurance I no longer have, and that they never got the new script I told them I needed to fill, but instead of someone just saying "oh we actually dont have a script for that medicine from that doctor, they decided to just give me a completely different, 4 month old script. You can NOT just give people random medicines like this!! Completely unacceptable! The pharmacist didn't seem to care at all that I needed to take this medicine that I now do not have because of their screw up. It was very upsetting. A few minutes after hanging up the pharmacy calls me, a different person this time. To tell me that instead of giving me the prescription I asked for they had given me an old one from December, from a different doctor that I no longer see, under insurance I no longer have, for a different medicine than I said the script was for. Again. And that he had called this old doctor, without my knowledge or permission, to ask them to write me a new prescription, that I never asked for. Completely dissatisfied with every aspect of this entire transaction. This pharmacy needs to be seriously retrained, because you can not just give people the wrong prescriptiom for ANY reason. Especially not a reason as piss-poor as "we actually dont have the prescription you asked for from the doctor you said its from....but we'll just tell you we do and give you this random 4 month old prescription and not tell you and hope you don't notice". Absolutely ridiculous.

If you call in an order don't ever expect it to be ready. I have never been given an estimate that's even close to accurate. Their third strike is not even having a record of my order when I came to pick it up way after their estimate, knowing that it wouldn't be ready then. No one at this location seems to even care that they can't take orders properly

Great staff, bakery selections are wonderful. The produce department has everything I need and more. Location is great. Even at holiday time you can get in and out without a long wait

Love Wegman’s! I like that the James Street location is not as overwhelming as DeWitt.
Modern Malt is EXCELLENT. They have breakfast all day and the most delicious varieties of French Toast and egg dishes EVER. They also have great shakes. Parking can be tricky. Other than that it has a fun environment and great for kids too.

I had the pizza slice which are very large, average but fills the need, I wife had egg rolls and was pleased with them.

I feel that they are over priced selling most of the foods by weight. Pizza is ok, wings are ok etc. Great subs with fresh baked rolls. The price for subs are comparable to other sub shops and the quality is so much better! Love some of their soups but again pricey at $3.49 for a small cup.

This place is OK, but it suffers from comparison to the other, newer Wegmans. I stopped in for a sub, and picked up a “Danny’s Special” Italian style. It was OK, but I think they make them better in my home Wegmans’. Also, the store is older and not as nice as the newer ones.
