This is my go-to breakfast spot in Elmhurst. Their Portuguese egg tart and brown sugar walnut bread are my faves. Some of the breads come with ham or sausage, though—I really wish they offered those without. More vegan-friendly options would be amazing. I wanna try the steamed buns too; they remind me of my hometown, but I can only eat halal. Hoping they expand the menu with vegan options like coconut steamed buns and custard steamed buns.

Rainbow Bakery in Elmhurst is one of the most convenient and enjoyable bakeries in the neighborhood, located right next to the train station perfect for grabbing something quick on your way to or from the subway. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with the smell of freshly baked bread and pastries, and the display cases are filled with a large variety of baked goods. They have everything from traditional Chinese pastries to more modern options like mochi donuts, which are soft, chewy, and just the right amount of sweet.

One thing that really stands out about Rainbow Bakery is their incredible selection of cakes. They offer cakes for all types of occasions birthdays, anniversaries, and even custom designs if you order ahead. The cakes are always beautifully decorated and come in many flavors, from classic fruit and sponge cakes to more unique ones with taro, mango, or chocolate layers.

There's also indoor seating, so you can actually sit down to enjoy your coffee, pastry, or dessert instead of rushing out. The atmosphere is bright and welcoming, and the staff is friendly and efficient. Overall, Rainbow Bakery is a great neighborhood spot that combines quality, variety, and convenience definitely worth a visit whether you're a local or just passing through Elmhurst.

Cute shop to stop in for a well-priced sweet treat. Each bread was about $2 each. The egg tart was nice and fluffy with a flakey crust. The cheese bun was interesting with the top being sweet and the center containing American cheese. There are a few two person tables to sit down at (20 min time limit).

The cashiers’ attitude was really bad. When I entered the shop, both of them were facing back to the counter and chatting. Then, I said “excuse me” to them but they just ignored me. So I repeated two more times and they still ignored me. Finally, I said “hi” a little loud and one of them finally turned around to greet me. I really wonder whether they were having gathering in the shop or working.

the food and products are very good at rainbow bakery locations but the service in this location, just simple cashier transactions are the worst. The cashiers ladies here are worst and makes you feel like you are there to eat for free.

Buy coffee with less sugar and less ice. Give sugar-free and no ice. Buy milk tea with less sugar, not less at all. Not busy at all, just listening to people's needs.

Hidden gem in Elmhurst: Double Rainbow Bakery at 8251 Broadway is serving up pure magic in every bite.

Their pineapple bun? Absolute perfection—crispy golden top with that warm, pillowy center. It's everything a pineapple bun should be.

Don’t sleep on their fish sandwich either—soft bun, flaky fish, and just the right balance of crunch and flavor.

Now for the showstopper: their mochi donuts (aka Pon De Ring) are hands-down the best in the game. Chewy, lightly sweet, and beautifully glazed—each bite is a dream.

Also obsessed with their Chinese egg tarts—buttery crust with silky, custardy centers that melt in your mouth.

And let’s talk about their mini sesame seed pineapple buns: slightly nutty, subtly sweet, and dangerously snackable.

If you’re in Queens, this bakery is a must-visit.
