I recently visited this restaurant on a Monday afternoon and was the only person there for takeout, which already made the space feel even smaller and a bit uninviting. The atmosphere could definitely use some improvement: the lighting was dim and the tables looked worn, which didn’t create the cozy vibe I was hoping for.
One major disappointment was the pricing. The menu online showed lower prices than what I was charged in the restaurant, which left me feeling frustrated. For the higher cost, the overall meal quality just didn’t meet expectations. Most of the food was underwhelming for the price.
The one highlight was the mok thuk momo, which was surprisingly delicious and comforting, especially on a cold winter day. However, that alone isn’t enough to make me want to dine in again given the small, dim setting and the mismatch between price and quality.

INCREDIBLE. What a gem of a place and credit to the Tibetan community!! Absolutely wonderful service, unlike so many food places in New York I felt genuinely and deeply welcomed here. Food was unique and delicious, and prices were affordable without compromising on the heartiness of the meal and wholeness of the experience. Would DEFINITELY come here again!!!

I get sha baklep from here every other week. Of all the Tibetan restaurants in Queens, this is the best sha baklep. The rest of the food is great too, like the blood sausage and chicken chili.

loved the noodles! the broth was heavenly since it was also raining. I mixed it with a little bit of the chutney(sauce) they gave with it and it was amazing.

Calling this place “no frills” of pretty on-target, my dinner date walked over to the fridge to grab beverages that we ordered and never came. The tv, which still has it's “energy guide” sticker was playing a mix of YouTube music videos and commercials which seemed perfect for the adolescent guests who outnumbered the adults when we arrived just after 7 on Sunday night.
But that's not why we're here! Momo's and Liang Fen, authentic Nepali style, and a side of gyuma, traditional blood sausage with rice flour.
The Liang Fen are cold wide noodles wrapped around a filling that seems to be tofu. The “dry” version isn't in a broth, but it's hardly dry, it has a super yummy chili sauce that's just the right spicy, and the texture is a little chewy, but not tough. Very good
The blood sausage has the same grainy texture of British blood sausage, but the addition of toasted rice flour gives it a more pillowy texture. Also served in a light sauce with dried red chilies, it lit me up in the most pleasant way.
Then Momos with jhol sauce, fragrant of sesame, garlic, ginger and more chilies, spicy but not too much.
It's probably great as takeaway, but the pageant if interesting locals in and out, and Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift with commercials for streaming services made for an unforgettable meal.

This restaurant serves delicious Momos (dumplings) and provides exceptional customer service. One notable example of their excellent service was when they allowed my kids to use the restroom in a time of need, even though we hadn't ordered anything at that time.

Lhasa Liang Fen is a definition of a hidden gem. It’s a small shop in Elmhurst serving Tibetan/Nepalese food. I was a fan of the fried potato dumplings and the Dan Dan noodles. The two spicy sauces they had (one a chili oil base and the other more like a paste) really elevated each of the dishes and added a great kick to the meal.
The beef noodle is really delicious! Tried another Tibetan restaurant and this id unbeatable. Momo is good too.

I've eaten here a few times. The momos are good. Today my momos are good, but the chili sauce they gave me was spoiled, as soon as I opened it, I could smell the sour.... I'm glad I asked for the chili oil too, this was good. I can see why they get a C grade. I don't think I'll eat there until they get an A grade. No more gambling with my health....
