I'd been ordering from this place until two days ago. I ordered a chicken cachapa and felt sick to my stomach like never before in my life. I had vomiting and diarrhea for two days straight. I ended up in the hospital for severe dehydration. Be very careful.

Their checkout systems are set up to automatically prompt for a tip, even for takeout, It’s a subtle form of social pressure.
We should not be paying extra for service tip when is a take out order.

I’ve been a client since they open, regularly buying every other week, until this morning I got to the store to order and halfway to the counter my husband told me look in the floor on the left side…there was a huge RAT 🐀. I run away in disbelief and disgust. Rats carry diseases that can damage organs like kidneys and liver if their urine and feces are ingested most probably in this case because is a restaurant they handle food. So I do not recommend this business if that RAT is just walking in broad daylight is because they have an infestation.

I hear from colleagues that their patacon is good, and so are their empanadas. Today, I ordered a bowl of carne asada and could not finish it. The meat is not asada but pan-fried (or microwaved because it is not fresh), with little to no seasoning, and is hard. This is unacceptable, and we will no longer be ordering from here. I ate the black beans with the rice because I had no choice. It is also not visually appealing. The meat choice for carne asada must be tender, not cheap meat. Do not waste your money. I paid extra for extra meat just to throw it away. I wouldn't want anyone eating it and I am so sad about it because I am a person who doesn't throw away food. As someone who is Latina, this food does not represent our culture, please do better just how your patacones and empanadas are. If not, take it out of your menu.

Their Patacon is truly special. The fresh lechuga, tomatoes, & creamy sauces rich with flavor all compliment the well seasoned shredded beef. One of my favorite comfort foods so I was extremely excited to have found this place near my area. I’ll definitely be coming back & trying their Arepas, Tacuchos, & Cachapas.

I ordered sweet plantain with shredded chicken. This was the worse food that I have ever eaten in my life. It made my stomach hurt. I called the restaurant and was told by the lady who answered that the chicken was good. I mean, how in the world this possible that she is not concerned of serving this to the public. Please don’t eat here, these people don’t care for the public and cook whatever even rotten food.

This is the worst. Has no taste. I paid $18.50 for a meal that is not worth it. A bowl served so nasty. Even prisoners eat better. Incredible never again will I trow my money away like that. Hasta los presos comen mejor que en este lugar.

Patacon Pisao has a delicious, wide selection of food and is one of my favorite repeat spots!! ☺️

The food is flavorful, well portioned, and unique✨ Their drink selection is always amazing too with options like Incacola, passion fruit juice, tamarind, and so much more!

Don’t get me started on that pastelitooo either 😳……..biggest pastelito I’ve ever had and the dough is just……..👌🏻😩👌🏻

It is also not hard on the stomach and always a great default for my partner and I when looking for something balanced and still tasty. 💗

On the downside, they are pretty pricey...

I also always find myself wishing they had an option online that sells just the arepa or patacon (grilled or fried), I understand this may not be sustainable for them but it would easily make me a more frequent returning customer. 💸

Regardless highly recommend trying it out even if only once :)

I got the Plaintin pork sandwich, the size is good tast ok, but the letuce leaves inside look not good, and the Plaintin is really greasy, so I cannot even finish half of it. I am sure some people like the oil soaked plaintin, but not for me.

I’m surprised to see bad reviews for this place. I used to eat at the Essex location often around 2018 and stumbled upon their Queens location the other day and it was just as good as I remembered. On top of that, the staff was super nice, polite and welcoming. I’ll definitely stop by whenever I’m in the area again.

I programmed a Uber eats order for 11 cachitos a day in advance to surprise some coworkers. I understand that is complicated and if they have canceled, that wouldn’t be a problem, that’s why I put it a day before. In return, I received only 1 cachito! Honestly, just cancel it if you cannot make it. Don’t just send 10% of the order.

The paisa fried arepa was really great. A lot better than the Arepa Lady in Jackson Heights. Steak was a little overcooked but otherwise very enjoyable.

Personally, I wasn't a fan of the texture/flavor of the plantains in the patacon. It tasted quite potato-ey and was a bit dry. Also, not a fan of the cubano filling. I would probably avoid those and go for one of the arepas.

Additionally, the prices on the menu are not up-to-date, which is quite annoying.
