On January 7,2026, I went to the restaurant and I paid $41 dollars. I left the tip in cash and they decided that they will added there own tip on my card. How disrespectful are these people! I have proof and of course I’m going to fight it with my bank. Unacceptable.

First time coming to Sushi Island, the sushi was amazingggg! The service, atmosphere and food is a 10/10 definitely recommend. We ordered the frozen roll, Java roll and salmon tempura definitely give this spot a try! The prices were very reasonable for the size!

These are the most amazing rolls I've ever tasted. From the first bite, I was completely delighted and immediately wanted to order more. I highly recommend this cafe to everyone, as the taste, quality, and atmosphere are exceptional!
Sushi Island is a great place to have sushi if you want an affordable experience. The price is very good and the quality of the food is decent, but for the price it is great! My wife and I come here all the time. The staff is very friendly and they even remember what we like to order every time we come there. We love the specialty rolls and the dishes that have eel are very good here as well. I also recommend the drunken noodles and the Thai Iced Tea. We are never dissapointed when we come here. There is parking outside which makes our experiece even better since we do not have to look for parking. The atmosphere is nice and simple at the same time. It's a place that caters to all kinds of people, but generally the people that come here are not too loud and overwhelming. I believe it is a family restaurant, which is a plus in our book as well. Thank you everyone at sushi Island for always making us feel welcome and satisfied every time we come there!

This used to be a cozy sushi place. I’ve been coming here since 2009ish and the vibe was refreshing and fantastic.
Now, the food has become B- grade for me, the sushi slices were smaller than before. Some of the servers were not even pleasant. I hope they will be better in the future.

The food: Ate here two years ago, was fantastic. Suprised at the quality. Unfortunately that's no longer the case. I tried a bunch of the sashimi. Much of the fish had a tough texture. The salmon was great. But the tuna, yellow tail, and 6 other fish I tried tasted bland. The tuna was horrible, it's comparable to gas station tuna sushi. Perhaps it was an off day.
The service was okay. But the restaurant needs to put cleanliness on higher priority. The floor was full of muddy footprints and glass windows had fingerprints.

Caught with RATS AGAIN 8/13/25 by NYC Heath Department. Lots of other nastiness. They covered the windows so ppl can’t see rats at night instead of cleaning. Search Sushi Island on TikTok and Instagram to see videos. Don’t eat here! Ever!

I recently ordered online and was disappointed with the noticeably reduced portion sizes. The fish slice was very small, and the bento box servings have diminished as well. While I understand costs and inflation may play a role, the current value no longer justifies the price. I will not go back or order again on this restaurant.👎👎👎👎👎👎
