I have been going there for 30 years and about 28 of the 30 was a great experience. I miss the two previous owners which were friendly and professional and lovely people. Unfortunately they both had passed in time. I am assuming the new owner is the one I hear numerous complaints on as well as this review has sparked me to complain due to her actions. When you walk in she has a demeanor in which is extremely unfriendly and there were numerous times I feel like I am bothering her by simply purchasing food. Last year she was very nasty with me as well as last weekend. I walked in at 12 pm and wanted a chicken salad sandwich when she popped around the front counter stating in a nasty tone “no more sandwiches “ . She saw my face changed and further stated “come in and see that the grill is clean” . I stated you just don’t want to make a sandwich for me and waved my hand at her in disgust and got lunch in one of the 200 places in the neighborhood. I believe she assumed I wanted an egg sandwich instead of a cold chicken salad sandwich . What deli owner/employee tells people that they are finished with making sandwiches? It’s line going to a pharmacy and someone yells at you “we don’t have medications!” It’s the weekend so there is not a buffet available. I have heard how nasty she is to numerous employees at Elmhurst Hospital and experienced it 2-3 times myself. I am on the fence if I am going to go there anymore. We should not have a dark feeling/hesitation prior to going to a business to make a simple purchase. Everyone else has been great! Look for a job that makes you happy!!

Omg!!today i went to this store to buy some stuff and envelope..and i need to write something on envelope so i ask the man if i can borrow a pen so he gave me pen and then i was trying to write down and all of a sudden the woman was screaming at me don’t use that pen and she threw me a broken pen and told me to go to other place to write and she also said rudely don’t forget to bring back the pen with angry face, so i was trying to write in other space since there is only one customer in the store besides me and my friend…i have never experienced like this before..me and my friend thought she must had a bad day after we left this store but when i checked reviews…she is always rude with all customers ….don’t go here..that woman will ruin your whole day..there is a big key food,target and another deli go somewhere to buy but not in this store…i am going to tell everyone not to go there..

It was Sunday around 12:10~20pm. I went to the store to buy flower. There was a lady cashier at the counter. She glared at me with angry eyes. All I did was I brought flower to the store to pay as a customer so far! I paid 20 dallars. I was standing one or two step side away from counter. She gave me 13 dollars for change at the counter not into my hand. It is OK She can put the money on the counter but the way she she gave me was almost like throwing money on the counter. I still feel really bad from this lady. I don't want to use this store ever again!!
