So my husband is from ROC and we have been looking for empanadas (he's super picky) for a while now.. Well I got a hankering for chicharon and looked up this establishment. We stopped by last night 11/6 we were immediately greeted by a friendly face. I was a little disappointed no chicharron they had sold out for the day but my husband got two beef and cheese empanadas and we got a piece of tres leches cake.. My husband said the empanadas were like nothing he has ever had before they were so delicious he was going back for more next time he will get 4 The tres was moist and flavorful.. we will definitely be going back 10/10 highly recommend.

Very poor customer service to black people. Very rude woman and girl working there. Certain period their people of Spanish decent can say what parts of the food/ meat they would like however a person like myself a county African American woman ask for specific parts of the meat I get attitude and once before she the owner, said you know you can go some place else!:I had to return my undet cooked food and instead of replacing my food she places my money that I did not ask for back on the counter! We will no longer support this bias place of business moving forward. I see how she treats her Spanish peoples and I see for some time now how she treats African American men and woman just by being present! This is unacceptable! Stop serving under cooked pork! This is what happened when there is no compilation restaurants get complacent and forget that we the people are the ones that keep the doors open . Honestly I think everybody in there needs to get their citizenship papers checked. I'm not being funny. Also just because I haven't spoke ir didn't mean I didn't understand that you speak about me when I'm there in Spanish! Also prices for the food quality are over priced!

I got food poisoning from this place this is the only review I would ever leave … I was SICK after eating their food ….. Chicken empanadas taste like nothing but lightly seasoned water meat wasn’t fresh seemed days old. Literally a waste of money ….
Today was my first time at LA Isla. My only issue was the penil wasn't seasoned enough. There's no cilantro, no Adobo, no sazon and no garlic 😢. It wasn't terrible,just not what I'm accustomed to coming from N.Y.C. The empanadas are scrumptious 😋 tho. The arroz con gandulas needs more sofrito. Would I go back?!! I think so!!

Plate was packed with delicious pernil, rice , beans and plantains. Skin was really crispy but not too oily. Strawberry cheese tres leches was amazing as well.
Also got a beef and cheese empanada which was gigantic and stuffed with filling. 3 bucks is a steal for that.
