Went for the fish fry. Got the beer battered which was super crispy and delicious. Piping hot too. Great sides as well. Bartender was doing tables and gave us great service. Highly recommended! Get there early if you want fish. Sold out just after we got ours.

I was there on a Wednesday evening, which is "Burger night". Coincidentally, I was in the mood for a burger! It's one of the best burgers I've had in a long time and the onion ring were excelent too! The place was busy but I was waited on quite fast, I felt. My order arrived soon after my beverage. I was quite pleased with the service and food. The atmosphere was quite typical for a bar and grill it seamed. Everyone was friendly.
I 've eaten a lot of food from the tavern and today the wings my wife and I got from there were terrible . They were dry due to being over cooked . The celery was good but the blue cheese was bad . I know that the tavern can do better than that and has always but something about today was really off . I thought about calling but that would make me out to be the bad guy out here in our neck of the woods . I hope in the future they do better and in their defense the cook didn't seem to be paying very much attention as to what was going on in the kitchen anyway .

I am originally from the Southern Tier but left thirty years ago. While home for the holidays I asked who was serving up the best wings these days, Elbow Room or Bernie Murrays, I was surprised to hear both places have fallen and are hit or miss at best. A friend said, its a drive but try the Town Tavern so my wife and I went and found the pub, the atmosphere was ok, lots of people having fun. There was a GREAT BAND playing called Major Big Time and they really rocked the house and had people dancing and drinking up.We came for the wings and ordered, I got dozen with the house sauce and my wife was tempted by the Bacon Double Burger. After a short wait the food arrived and oh... my.... gawd..... the wings were absolutely HUGE and meaty (the Cincinnati area could learn a lesson or two here) and cooked to crispy perfection, the house sauce was amazingly good, not too sweet, not too hot but they found the spot right in the middle and it was absolutely delicious. My wife loved the double bacon burger, saying the patties were perfectly cooked and the bacon was exceptional.I highly recommend the Town Tavern, it is absolutely delicious food served with a smile. On my next trip to visit family, I know where I am going for a plate of wings.
