Chez Lin & Rays Restaurant

This is a cozy little restaurant with a small deck that provides a great atmosphere. The place itself is rather small and honestly I don't think I would have liked sitting inside. It felt rather cramped to be inside. Fortunately, we were able to sit outside. The menu only had a few options and the plates were rather small. Taste was good, but nothing outstanding. Overall a great find, but there is potential to make it better.

Vegetarian options: None. Not very flexible in choice

Parking: Plenty outside and along the road

Very good restaurant for this area. Good service with excellent food. I personally prefer a small menu and I know it helps to keep the quality high. However, they might be smart to add an item or 2 for the "American palate". Or not ?.

I have to say after multiple conversations with our server regarding bell peppers that I cannot eat I was surprised that I ordered the bbq salmon entree and it arrived with rice and that had bell peppers. I wanted to order the ravioli and crab cake entree but the crab cake had peppers in it so I decided on the salmon. The salmon was undercooked and the vegetable was literally 3 small pieces of broccoli. I realize prices are high these days but how about a real portion of a vegetable with an entree. Love this place but disappointed with this meal.

We were a large group of eight and had a wonderful meal. The food was excellent and our server Diane went above and beyond. Truly a great experience all around.

Best food in Essex! Menu is on the smaller side but all offerings are delicious. Great view from the outdoor patio and great service. Very pleased with our experience.

On our visits we’ve watched delight after delight coming from the kitchen. Never disappointed with our own selections, we dreamed of returning between visits to try other items. The view of Lake Champlain is just dreamy and the atmosphere in the restaurant so pleasant. Ah well, nothing to do but dream about their seasonal reopening in the spring. We will miss you and be first in line in May!

My family of 3 went to this little restaurant for dinner last night and all I can say is, wow. The food was amazing and the service from our waitress was outstanding. I am horrible with names and unfortunately cannot remember it to mention it here, but she was so kind and went above and beyond for us. We had a 2 year old with us and she brought us bread right when we sat down to keep her occupied and fed. All restaurants are struggling right now with barely any staff and she still treated us with such kindness and care. The food came out quick and was outstanding. This was the highlight of our weekend trip! We will definitely be back!

Nice little restaurant with a view of Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains in Vermont. Food was excellent, our server Diana was very attentive.. We will be back.

First time for me it certainly won't be the last I found the food well prepared served hot, the staff was delightful. For me that's a winning combination good food good service equals a return visit.
