It’s always a walk back in time when I enter Merritt Bakery. Having worked there as a teenager, I remember the quality and abundance of all the baked goods. The family recipes have remained the same and Mike the Baker continues to use the finest quality ingredients, just like his parents Joan & Mike used to do. I left with a custom 10” square strawberry shortcake for my mother in law’s birthday that was divine - fresh and light, and two pounds of their scrumptious chocolate dipped cookies. Simply the BEST!

Go there for yourself there is no more than a teaspoon of fruit in the donuts and the turnovers see for yourself and the bread the rye bread the slices of lighter than a feather and they're plenty of holes it looks like cheese Swiss cheese something happened here this place is sad sorry very nice people the quality is forgotten

About 2 weeks ago my sister purchased a chocolate cake covered with chocolate sprinkles. She brought it to my house.. The cake was so stale I could not believe they sold it to her. I was so embarrassed because I told her to go there.. They have some nerve selling a cake that old especially how expensive cakes are nowadays.

Ordered a half sheet cake a month ago for yesterday. Called Friday to confirm. NO CAKE WAS MADE FOR MY OCCASION! The cake they “whipped up” was stale and not good at all. The girl I spoke to on Friday said I was calling to ask about a cake. I was confirming they would have it ready for Sunday.
They said this happens a lot! Go somewhere else!

The chocolate sprinkle ring cake has been a staple at every special occasion in my life, and they have sooo many goodies to enjoy. Even though I moved to California years ago, I make it a point to stop by every time I'm back in NY to pick up my favorite treats.
Mike the baker is amazing! I recently called to order more of my favorite gluten-free chocolate chip cookies and the sprinkle cake, and he took the time to personally call me back to discuss my order. That level of care and customer service is truly special. I’ll be calling in regularly for these delicious treats! It’s clear they put so much love and attention into everything they make, and I couldn’t be more grateful for this bakery’s consistent quality and heartwarming service. Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious bakery goods that feel like home!

I needed a cake for a family celebration and knew Mike would make the most delicious cake. The chocolate cake with 1/2 cannoli filling and 1/2 napoleon custard was absolutely perfect. The cake was so moist and the filling was perfection! We also had a yellow cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate buttercream filling. It was to die for!!! So fresh and delicious!! Mike and staff are the best and always so accommodating.
