What a way to start the year. We waited to be seated and no one even approached us. Finally after 10 minutes we were approached , worse part is the place was not even busy . We should have taken the hint from the start. Again after sitting for another 10 minutes, (The waitress was very nice.)She gave us menus and took our drink orders ,coffee and smoothies along .The specialty coffees were not half good. We wasted 45 minutes from the time we walked in until this point. I approached one of the waitresses and complained . Our food had not arrived, we noticed people that walked in after us were served . Also noticed people walking out cause the were experiencing the same thing. After I complained the food arrived. Everything was cold I mean ice cold. What a waste of time. I approached the waitress and asked for the check for the coffees and pointed out to her that they should be ashamed of their service, cold food and wasting our time. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE Near this place unless you like cold food, bad service and wasting your time. Read reviews. We should have cause we weren’t the only ones that experienced this.

Second time here with my husband and not coming back. Service was awful. I asked for waters 3 times. No communication between staff. Food was awful. Never again. Go to embassy diner instead they treat you with respect and the food is amazing.

Went for breakfast on Saturday around 9:30 am. Was seated upstairs. Was not very crowded. Order was taken food was brought the food was not great. Pancakes were so dry. No one ever came to the table to refill coffee and I asked for butter for pancakes it never same. I got the hostess to bring us coffee and told her I never received butter and pancakes we’re trrribke she said nothing and the food was very exoendive. $52 for breakfast 2 people. Terrible was much better in the past.

First time here at my grandmother's kitchen, the food was not fresh, the potato tasted really bad, the service is slow, the table is dirty, and the ligation is noisy, but it was not a good experience.

Our 1st time here today 12/1 for brunch party of 7. You had your chance to lose me as a customer - and you nailed it.
We will never return.
The food was what I expected, homemade, home-kitchen style hearty breakfast.
Service was awful. 45 minutes to get a second cup of coffee. Nearly an hour for the food to get to our table.
My wife’s order was gotten wrong. A simple request for “no English muffin on the Eggs Benedict” became no meat either. No one said “no meat” and the receipt clearly indicated it as well.
BUT….. the absolute worst? That horrific birthday song. Twice. Far too long. Far too loud. Are you kidding me with that song? Obnoxious, intrusive, awful. I’m just trying to eat breakfast with my family on a Sunday morning. Awful, awful. Absolutely horrific.
Food was exactly what I anticipated, it was fine. Atmosphere - awful. Service - awful.

This place has been here for about three years. The first time I visited, I was a little surprised that they only open till 3pm, Breakfast and lunch only, the dining area is oddly shaped, but it is clean, the service was excellent with a friendly and attentive staff. The food was pretty good. I had the Grandmother's eggs 🥚 Benedict, it was very good, we also had a sandwich 🥪 montecristo, it was good ,they also have freshly squeezed orange juice 😋 and other fresh juices. Will definitely return to try their lunch menu

I was Very DISAPPOINTED in BRUNCH at My Grandmother's Kitchen. It was very noisy, the food Wasn't good and it took a very long time to receive our dishes. I don't remember the waiter being present or coming back to ask if we needed anything. I had to find him several times.

Came here with my wife our baby, and another couple and their baby, for Sunday brunch a few weeks ago on October 27th around noon. We were seated within 5 minutes of arriving, which was great for a Sunday brunch with no reservations. Unfortunately, we were served after nearly every single table that was seated after us was served. We watched a table of 6 adults be seated 10/15 minutes after us, and watched them all receive their full meals before any one of us. We ordered basic brunch meals, nothing fancy or out of the ordinary , didn't ask for any dietary accommodations. The waitress almost didn't even take our order after taking the other tables orders, I had to flag her down for her attention and she still decided to give the kitchen the other tables orders first before ours. We ended up spending nearly two hours thanks to the unbelievably long wait for our very simple meals for just 4 adults. We had to eventually flag down a manager for help, after already asking the waitress where our food was (to no avail).

The food was great, as a Dominican I was impressed with the mangu. But none of us want to go back ever again, we would have been better off waiting the 45 minutes to be seated up the block at the other brunch spot, we would have been done at the same time as we finished at this place. The table that was seated after us finished eating and started leaving before we were even close to finishing our plates,

We received no apologies or any sort of compensatory discount for this ordeal .

Oh well.

For an informal restaurant, with great service anymore food, this is the place. We get what we want, how we want it.
Only drawback is that it isn't wheelchair friendly.

Vegetarian options: Eggs and cheese dishes. Bean dishes. Not on the menu is also avocado toast, which is a very generous portion. You can get fresh fruit instead of potatoes, as well.

Parking: Parking is normally free, depending upon the day and time you go, as I recall.

The food is great but the service is really quite slow. It took an hour and a half to get our breakfast, on a day that it was not busy enough to explain the slowness, and there was no explanation or apology for having to wait so long and remind them of our food several times. Had to remind them to bring our check. No one brought over any water for the whole table, they came by once with a few glasses of water, asking if anyone wanted any. Any time you have to chase down wait staff for food or drinks, it’s not a pleasing experience. The food again was great, but I am not sure what was going on with the service.
