Walked in last night. In a few seconds we smelled cigarette smoke they say it’s a no smoking place but someone definitely smokes in there. Smoking in a restaurant is gross.

Came here last Friday for drinks and had some suuuuper yummy loaded fries and nachos to share. The staff is super nice and my friends say they've been here dozens of times and always loved it.

It is clear that this establishment has a certain image that they want to cater to and let alone serve at that. You’re basically only welcomed here if you’re dressed a certain way, look a certain way and act a certain way.A small group of my VERY well over the legal drinking age friend group came here to enjoy some food after we enjoyed a fun afternoon for the Irish festivity that took place on Main Street. I grew up in Farmingdale and have eaten and enjoyed drinks at The Republic for many years! Always was great bar food and grub so I thought it was a good suggestion!I was SO embarrassed for the recommendation I had made to my friends. Initially, the bouncer made a comment about “not wanting drunk people inside.” We laughed it off as we know their location is in the heart of Main Street where I’m sure he’s seen a lot of “drunk people” before and let us inside. The entire staff inside was extremely rude, judgmental, rolling their eyes, and even refused service! Menus, table settings and silverware were flung toward our way with no regard or a hello or a welcome? Is it because we wore green and participated in a St. Patrick’s day event that we were treated this way?I understand The Republic did not participate in the Irish crawl festivity, however, they were still open…should have closed if they did not want business that day. We were willing to pay for a meal!Find it funny that Google refers to The Republic as an “Irish Pub”, however, this place profiles people who are Irish as drunks and will refuse to serve you such as!Business was better well spent down the block!

Been going to Republic Pub since 2018. It's a great pub located on Main Street in Farmingdale. Still love their Buffalo Mac and Cheese to this date! The staff are always so friendly here - shoutout to Jordan and Tim.Great place to hang out, grab a drink or go out on a first date! Great selection of beer for everyone and this is a place where you can go and have a conversation and actually here each other.Love Republic!

Went for brunch and the food was very good and the service was great! Everyone was so very friendly and knowledgeable. The chef came out to chat with us a few times which was nice.

As in my star rating of 5, everything finds truth in drink choice, food, and friendly staff. Bartenders know their stuff and able to recommend drinks of choice depending on preference. Light beer to dark beer, they have what you want and need

Very slow service. We were at a table but the bartender seemed more interested in talking with the people at the bar. It was as though we didn't even exist. And it wasn't even crowded. The food was good and the prices were reasonable.

The Republic is a good local drinking bar. We headed here after Sunday Brunch on Main Street for after Brunch drinks to continue the fun.

Went on a Tuesday night. Fun atmosphere, foods okay. They have a good beer selection. The service needs some work. They told us we needed to have an open CC to order and we told the bartender to not charge the card, we'll pay cash, and he charged the card anyway. We were also ignored the majority of our time at the bar, even after multiple attempts to get the attention of the bartender, so we had empty glasses for the better part of our meal. It was not busy at all, maybe 2-3 tables and one other couple at the bar. I liked the burger, my bf hated the Sheppards pie, it was quite watery. All in all an okay place for a beer when you're a few drinks in and maybe a bite to eat, but there are better places around, I'd skip this one.

Very chill cozy place that Farmingdale has to offer. When you want a place to hang your hat, chill, have a quiet night with a loved one, or just beer it up with your bros. This is the spot! And the food is fantastic taking that Irish American fusion to a whole new level! Want a new spot, and a place to get away for some fun, piece, and quiet!? The Republic is for you!

i went here one friday night after calling other restaurants that had about three hour long waits. there was no wait and the waitress / hostess was the sweetest woman i've met in my life! it was quiet and the service was amazing, she was just so personable. i got the crackpot and my GOD it was so good. i also got a vodka cran with a double shot and that was amazing too (i actually got two of them)! coming here was the best decision i've made

I went here on December 18, 2021. We selected this place before we knew it was Santa Con in the area. The pub was not on the Santa Con list so they were dead when we got there. The bartender/waitress/bouncer was very personable and helpful with our beverage selections. Drinks: The guys got a beer that was on the board that was likened to Reeses Peanut Butter cup. I did not like it but I am not a beer person. The bartender made me a drink and I have no idea what it was. It was sweet- didn't seem too strong but as I look at some of my photos for my Yelp review... maybe it was stronger than I thought. Food: YUMMY YUMMY! Is that enough detail? We got somethings to share- chicken parmesan egg rolls and a crack pot. They were so good- I should have stopped eating right then and there. We also got individual orders: Cajun Chicken sandwich- devoured in a flash, The Ugly- messy, tasty and quite filling, Chicken Bacon Ranch Mac Bowl- deep, good for restaurant mac and cheese but not as good as homemade (but I am a mac & cheese snob so you may think its phenomenal). Cost: The food was reasonably priced- typical pub prices and the quality was really good. Overall: I would come back to this location if I am in the area. It was a delightful experience!
