An unfortunate evening at Rio Doro. The appetizer (fried artichokes) and garden salad were fantastic. Bread and olives were enjoyed an appreciated. The vinho verde was crisp and fresh. Downsides included a boxing match on the prominent TV near our table, a notable lack of heat (brrr!), and a very forgetful waiter who needed multiple reminders at several points of service. When he brought us dessert menus, we asked where our entree was. He had entirely forgotten to order it! We agreed to wait for it, but wish we hadn't. The grilled bacalao we eventually received was an embarrassment to Portuguese food and my Nana would have rolled over in her grave! I've eaten plenty of Portuguese food (both at Nana's and in restaurants), but the tough portion of cod served to us in a bed of olive oil, with two slices of raw onion, raw tomato and boiled potatoes was just awful. After a couple of bites, we returned it (first time returning a dish in several years) and asked for it to be removed from our bill. The manager declined to do so, offering us a paltry 20% off the dish instead. After asking for the check, we were ignored by the (inexperienced?) waiter, who started two new tables and ignored our credit card for ten minutes. We eventually dropped cash and left. I'm a waitress with over 12 years experience in professional service and have never experienced or witnessed reasonable clients being allowed to leave unhappy and the manager not even bothering to visit the table. We might have returned if not for this near complete disregard for the customer's experience or satisfaction. Thank heavens I serve in a restaurant with much more responsive management! Bundle up and take your chances at Rio Doro.

Food is well prepared and authentic. The Carne Mixto is enough for 2 and the pulpo was the absolute best. The staff was friendly and efficient. Altogether a wonderful experience
This place has great food and even better service. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. We got the the chicken Sinatra and chicken Sinatra. Both dishes were unbelivable! So delicious.Fantastic food, and great value! the servings are very generous, and the prices very reasonable. The service was friendly. We will definitely be back.
