Fat Ernie's Cheesesteaks & Hershey's Ice Cream Parlor

⭐ 1 Star — I got seriously sick after eating here.
I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt obligated to share what happened. After eating at Fat Ernie’s, I came down with Campylobacter, a serious bacterial infection caused by contaminated food. This isn’t just food poisoning — this was 6 days of severe stomach pain, diarrhea, fever, and fatigue. I had to see a doctor and was put on antibiotics.

I’m extremely disappointed and concerned about the food safety and cleanliness standards at this place. No one should have to go through what I did just from grabbing a meal. I hope they take this seriously and make major changes in their kitchen practices before someone else ends up in worse condition. I will never eat here again — and I strongly suggest you think twice before you do.

Decided to go pick up my order via Order Eats: (2)10oz ribeye cheesesteaks with mayo and cheese wiz, one with extra cheddar cheese, onions, the other with tomatoes, French fries, onion rings, extra side of cheese wiz, and a coke. When I pulled up, I hesitated on entering because it appeared like the restaurant was closed. I walked in and it seemed deserted, there was someone at the front and I informed him that I was there to pick up my order from Uber Eats. He immediately told me that he didn’t have vinegar to add to my sandwiches, he also mentioned that he literally had ONE can of Diet Coke in which I declined, he paid me $2 from his register as a courtesy. I will be honest in saying that I didn’t think to actually inspect my order until after I got to my destination in which I found this (insert pic here*). No cheese wiz (on the sandwiches or on the side), no tomatoes, no cheddar cheese, no mayo. Very upsetting after spending $45. Called Fat Ernie’s and was met with apologies along with statements like “we ran out of tomatoes,” “I’m sorry i forgot to include the cheese wiz” etc etc. And I was told to request a refund via Uber Eats. My party and I ended up dumping the entire order in the garbage and made a beeline to Park Slope, Brooklyn to purchase delicious wagyu chopped cheeses from PROSPECT PARK DELI(if you don’t know, now you know, thank me later 😊). Fat Ernie’s…it’s been real.

place is SLAPPPPPP! Great cheesesteak… me and my bro stopped in after getting some weed from across the street. Fat Ernie’s is highly recommended by me😎

Parking: There’s a parking lot enough for 6+ cars

This use to be the spot. I got a cheese steak sandwich that cost me $18 and it hardly had no meat. I will never step into this spot again. Watch out the pricing on the menu does not match what you will get charged.

Imagine my surprise when I saw Fat Ernies was back in town! Had our first ones last night and they did not disappoint. Perfect amount of meat, cheese & onions. Brian (the new owner) was kind enough to tell me the whole story of Fat Ernies return. I watched him cook up the onions fresh for my sandwich. Yum! We’ll be back! Thank you Brian.

Been a while since I last ordered from here…but I remember now that it’s just as good as prior times. We ordered a 15oz cheesesteak to share between 2 people but next time would probably stick with the 10oz (which should be the same 12inch bread but less meat). The 15oz was HEFTY and chock full of beef. The bread was also super soft. Basic toppings were free, but there were other options for premium topics too.

Service was super friendly, from the patient guy taking my phone order as I was driving thru a dead zone to the (same?) guy when I picked up my order. Sandwich was still piping hot when I picked it up 20 mins after calling it in.

There’s usually parking in front or there’s a parking lot to the left side although that might be owned by the other store.

I ordered from uber eats here (second time) first time was incredible; however today there was hair in my meal and they messed up the toppings on the loaded fries. Will not be eating here again…
