Not quite understanding all the negative reviews. We came here on a Friday and we’re very pleased with the food and service. There were not many people here; however, I would recommend this place. Give it a try.
This place is...was a landmark... My grandparents are rolling over in the grave! Service...friendly but poor... Food...Absolute Hot Mess!!! Prime Rib Special...cooked hours in advance, fake / instant mash potatoes... No flavors... Slow... almost winter molasses speed. Let's just be real...God Bless the history, the memories, the zeal.... It's over. Time to put the old horse down. You're embarrassing yourself, your dedicated staff, and ripping people off. Call it a day, please!
My family and I went to this restaurant all the time when I was growing up. Unfortunately, the service has completely depleted since then. For Mother’s Day 2023 we had a 5pm reservation which we were on time for. The restaurant was not busy with people which is different from years in the past. We waiting 15 minutes before staff even acknowledged us and finally sat us down (even though there were 4 staff walking by us and talking to each other near us the whole time). We wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt because we understand how everyone is short-staffed and overworked. When we finally sat down, 15 minutes later, we then sat at the table for another 15 minutes while the staff was talking to the other 2 tables (yes, only 2) before we decided to get up and leave. While we were waiting by the hostess stand, the bartender was very rude to customers behind us when they asked if we could all be seated. She told the customer that he should have mad a reservation and probably won’t get a table, even though there were only a small handful of tables in use. The food quality from what we saw while waiting 15 minutes at the table was very very low which is another reason why we ended up leaving. So much for trying to make Mother’s Day special at a old family favorite. We will never be going again.-once a loyal customer
Do not go by these reviews, people call this place, Pricy, Old Fasion but I dont think the prices are any higher than other steak houses. And for the interior it is not "old Fashion" its just Rustic. They have one of the best Prime Rib's ive ever had.Large menu as well.

We had reservations for 2 at 4:00 for Easter Sunday. We were told there would be a two hour wait so we left and went down the road to Texas Roadhouse and had a delicious meal. We will not be going back to Buffalo head. There was a two hour delay for our reservation because they only had three waitresses show up, lots of empty tables but no help.
We had 2pm reservations for today (Easter)… we weren’t sat until probably quarter to 3, which ok it is a holiday and we expect to have to wait a little bit… We finally were seated just to realize that they were not offering their full menu and it was in fact very limited with only about 5 choices for meals (I feel like that should have been told at the time of making a reservation). On top of this there was no childrens menu, I will say they did make accommodations and were able to put together spaghetti and sauce (thank you so much for that!!)… our party ordered and was then told about 15 minutes later they were out of prime rib, so we re ordered our meals… meals came out pretty quick honestly but they were not hot… not even warm. Either way we ate our meals without complaining (the waitress never came back to see how things were) she did finally come back and we opted for dessert… that was a mistake because we then waited even longer for that… and again only to be told after some of it was coming out that the rest of it they had run out of as well…. They were gracious enough to not charge us for the desserts that we did receive but honestly I will not be back… it was not that busy to warrant the kind of experience we had… such a shame honestly because we went to Buffalo head for many many years for Easter dinner.
We both had the broiled fish. It suppose to be a wine, butter lemon sauce. Did not seem to be at all. All I can taste is salt and my friends was just peppery. Back potato was hard. The vegetabkes were just frozen mixed veggies. No one else there on a Friday night. I can understand why. We were there once 15 years ago, never again. Anything worse that I can make at home is better.
We had two broiled fish dinners. On a Friday night the place was empty. Now we know why. For whay you pay the food is terrible. Never going back.
Complete waste of $200 spent on dinner. 5 people and each steak was over/undercooked, 2 ny strips 1 was suppose to be rare got med well. 1 asked for med got well done. 3 ribeyes- 2 were rare vs med well as asked.. med was eh but lacked any sort of seasoning and my knife couldn't cut thru it. instant mashed potatoes were COLD (confirmed as instant), rock hard and cold greenbeans, butter wouldn't even melt, rock hard baked potatos and too cold for butter to melt. Greens are sautéed romaine lettuce with a ton of grease, sprinkle of cheese and bacon? oh an a few panko bread crumbs sprinkled on top (not even toasted). Not to mention the stale rolls. At least our salads were ok! Minus the fruit flies and house flies that were all over us. Thanks to our server, I feel for you!
