I bought a bottle of Black Velvet here about 17 years ago. I'll never forget it.

Fort Ann hole 'n the wall.Shelves of Bud Light. Dallas Cowboys stuff. A wood bar with 8 seats. Mernie's is pretty dark and there were tables set up for a kind of breakfast buffet. There was 1 nice pool table. At the exact moment I came in for a brew, the 'owner' came shuffling in. Wearing camo. It turned out his girlfriend kicked the bucket. This place was hers. After some finger-licking money counting on the bar, the bar tender slouched back, kicked up his feet drank his own drink and started to scroll on his cell. It's Weekend at Mernie's. A sign above the bar tender's idle head read: "We are a small town, we can't afford a village drunk. We all pitch in".Review: 3

Incredible experience, ambiance was exactly what you needed after a long day of hitting the track, play pool, chat with the locals. Long live Pickle

In 2012 I was heading back to California, disc golfing my way across each state after being a spectator at the Disc Golf World's Championship in Charlotte, NC. I was getting gas and saw Mernie's bar across the street so I asked the cashier if it was an ok place a stranger could go in and they said absolutely. This place was so amazing I was drinking red bulls as I was car camping, and the lady bar tending was kind, I shot pool with a father and his son, and the atmosphere was great people even better. Ty for your kindness

Passing through Fort Ann on my wayward journey through life, my wish of one day visiting Mernie’s Pub almost came to fruition, had it not been for my furry traveling companion. Alas, I am not sure Mernie - with its wholesome reputation - allows canines on their premises.Next time I will definitely make more of an effort and make a night of it. ?Bar - Draft Beer -Food - Rooms - Package Store - Mernie’s looks like a cool spot in the green lushness of upstate New York

Mernie's Pub will always be the best ever hangout in Fort Ann.
