Both dfacs are often closed inconsistently, food is barely warm or sometimes undercooked, the cooks have great hospitality and are professional and do their jobs to the best of their abilities but I feel like the nutritional value of the food, equipment used, and lack of buy in from fort drum leadership for training/ improving the food and atmosphere are big issues. Nearly everywhere on post is rated an A except for the dfacs. Charging single soldiers 400 a month whether they use it or not is wrong. We poor 400 dollars a month into a place that has poor nutritional value food, overworked staff, and ran down facilities and equipment that aren’t open all the time.

It's cheap if you struggling and need to save money. Your paying for $0 to $4.35...it's Army chow prepared by 92Gs.

The food here is very Army. I hope that sums it up. Nothing too special, you get your three meals a day. Breakfast tends to be on the better side of meals and you’re limited to drink options usually. Food and portions vary.

This place is pretty sad. Bland and flavorless. Even hot sauce couldn't fix this place. If you have dietary restrictions, then good luck. They will pull the statement of "we have salads" even though it's wilted and ham chunks end up in everything. Only a few options in the hot line but somehow it takes way to long to get through the lines.Good luck meeting Ht/Wt standards if this is your only food option. As your options are malnourishment/potential food poisoning/or dry dessert cupcakes.

Great food in the field, it was the only place to get a hot meal so maybe that made things taste better but still great!!

FREE ROCKS!! They called them something weird, like panned cakes??
Go to the DEFAC. Don't waste money on junk food, DEFAC food is great, and "free" if you're single.
Google and the posted hours say it opens on the weekends. Came to check it out while on Duty, and it was closed.
Why did I stand in line for an hour past open time waiting for the defac to open.

If I could give them a lower rating than one star I would,
Honestly this defac is lacking in many aspects. The food portion is small, the food doesn’t have seasoning the flavor is very bland. Constantly out of milk, coffee, cups, ands lids. Most these soldiers in the morning after conducting PT should get a bigger portion of food. It’s disrespectful and offensive the amount of food we get in this defac. I understand that nobody wants to work trust me if I could not be in the army I wouldn’t either but while I’m here I’m doing my job and so should the people in the defac. If you don’t want to work just go awol or something.
If I had to choose between golden corral and here, I would choose here EVERY.. SINGLE.. TIME. ?????

It’s nice that the DFAC prepares the food at the same temperature as the weather outside. That below-freezing cooked(?) yakisoba works wonders on a man! Will rate higher if they add a microwave to the place so at least one of us can eat something hot.
