The food here is very Army. I hope that sums it up. Nothing too special, you get your three meals a day. Breakfast tends to be on the better side of meals and you’re limited to drink options usually. Food and portions vary.
The Army takes $349 every month from my paycheck to pay for food. The "food" served at the 1st BDE DFAC makes me want to cry. I had better chow in Helmand. I had better chow at JRTC, all three times. I had better chow in the field. I eat better chow at the soup kitchen in Watertown.I think an easy improvement would be replacing the napkins with kleenex, that way I can wipe my sad tears without irritation.
Weekday schedule:Breakfast: 0800-0930Lunch: 1130-1300Dinner: 1700-1830Weekend schedule:Brunch: 0930-1300Dinner: 1700-1830During the weekend and holidays 1st brigade rotate with 2nd brigade. In conclusion one weekend 1st brigade is open the next weekend it's close. Same with 2nd brigade.
