Still one of the best bagel places on LI. Prices are still reasonable.

BEC on a plain bagel - bagel is equivalent to a frozen grocery store bagel, eggs were overcooked and the bacon was similar in quality to Dunkin. I don't know who voted for this place to be the best, but it's one of the worst I've had. Oh and it's cash only which they don't tell you until you've already ordered and point you to their ATM.
Just horrible all around
Food sucked
Service was just disgusting
Get ready to stay in line for 30 freaking minutes to get a simple bagel

I grew up eating these delicious bagels every weekend. Unfortunately the quality has drastically changed for the worse. The bagels used to be warm and soft and absolutely the best on Long Island… not so much anymore. They are hard and too thick.

I will never go in this place ever again. It’s dirty for starters. The line is out the door and the customer service completely sucks. I had to tell the girl four separate times, repeating myself so she could make three bagels. Never even dawned on her to write it down. I was in there almost a half an hour waiting for three bagels. To be told in the end? They only take cash. $3.75 for a buttered bagel? And you don’t except anything but cash? That’s some freaking scam you got going there, let me tell you. I’m sure it has absolutely nothing to do with them under reporting l revenue to the government. No clue why this place gets the reviews it does. There’s only one reason establishments don’t except anything but cash. And the fact that you’re charging almost 4 dollars for a bagel with butter that in total cost you less than $.50 to make? The absolute epitome of what’s wrong with the economy today. Here’s a giant FU to A&S bagels.

Those are not the same bagels I grew up eating. They have definitely changed and are not the same.
A & S Bagels is a bagel lover’s paradise—and the long lines at the cashiers and even an on-site ATM are a testament to its popularity. This unassuming spot combines efficiency with quality, making it a go-to for locals and bagel enthusiasts alike.
We pre-ordered three dozen assorted bagels by phone, ensuring a seamless pick-up experience. The bagels were fresh, chewy, and had that perfect New York-style texture that only a seasoned bagel maker can achieve. Alongside, we grabbed their cream cheese and cream cheese with lox, both of which were creamy, flavorful, and rich—an absolute treat. The lox was particularly fresh and perfect for our friend, who’s a fan of its briny, smoky goodness.
The deli counter is well-stocked with premium Boar’s Head products, and their shelves are filled with everything from spreads to beverages, making it easy to build the perfect bagel spread. Plus, the festive decor and friendly staff made the visit feel warm and welcoming.
If you’re in the area, A & S Bagels is worth the stop, whether you’re stocking up for an event or craving a classic bagel and schmear. Pro tip: Call ahead if you’re ordering in bulk—it’s worth the time-saving convenience!
