Came here for lunch and a great find in upstate NY. The food was delicious. I had their Thai red lentil soup. Service was good. They do not rush you. Highly recommend.

I’ve been here a few times and service has always been slow but food always made it worth it. I called to see if I could get a reservation for valentines and the operator said he could squeeze us in. We arrive a few minutes early, and sat at the one table available. People around the restaurant looked impatient so I assumed service was overwhelmed and expected to spend a good portion of the time chatting. I was wrong. It was much more than that. It took us 30 minutes to get in a drink order, just some bottles from the cooler next to us. While the server grabbed them immediately, he was then called away. Took him another 15 minutes to actually bring them to our table. Orders were coming out from the kitchen and the server looked like he couldn’t figure out who got what. He did not write down any particulars of your order. It took 90 minutes to get anything from the kitchen!! A steak and fries from scratch should have been maybe 15 minutes. 30 if they’re busy… We sat while people around us had to go chase down the servers to get their checks and then again to pay. One man sitting 30 minutes after his wife and kids went to the car. 90 minutes later my steak and fries came out, and my appetizer at the same time. But my husband’s didn’t come out until I was done with my meal (which I shared with him because we were starving at this point). Fries were perfect. Steak was very thin and very fatty. (Which I like) It wasn’t very clear what was an appetizer and what was a main course on the menu so my husband ordered something far too small, and didn’t like it when it came out (quail). They did not charge for his course, and gave us a free crème brûlée to make it right as they did recognize there were problems. The menu felt like they were trying a little too hard and they were overwhelmed. There are no traditional drinks (sodas were herb infused, I had a bottled rose lemonade) No alcohol (as expected as a Muslim establishment). No children’s menu (I didn’t bring my kids but several tables had elementary aged children). I would not have chosen the brûlée, i think it was a rose flavor, it was overwhelming. The pink was cute though. Overall, I was annoyed and debating whether we should leave throughout. The only thing that made me hesitate was that there was no price for the drinks listed so I wanted to make sure that I left the right amount of cash on the table. The table was in a bad spot and we couldn’t have moved. It was cold and windy from the door a few feet away. The evening was awful.

Had this place saved for a while and managed to stop by on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We had the za’tar spiced duck wings, Korean fried chicken sandwich, and the Javanese noodles. Everything was spot on and well-balanced and though their drink menu was limited - the British colas were perfect refreshers. Attentive and knowledgeable service staff. All their items are halal except the steak and Turkish burger.

Their nasi lemak was incredible, the turmeric fried chicken may be the best I've ever had. The beverage selection is top-notch, I recommend the rose water Turkish coffee.
