I’ve been out of the area for a few years, so imagine my surprise that they are still here, continuing to serve great stuff! Great portions, decent price, and they throw in some pita bread on top of it too!

I was seeking a new halal cart since my go-to was experiencing terrible shrinkflation. And in comes Zabi, which is on Union Turnpike right next to the TD Bank, across from Popeyes. This has been my new go-to halal cart for the last few months. They do not charge for combo vs. 1 type of meat and include a soda. Rice and meat are well seasoned and flavorful. They include some little chopped up pita on top, which is a nice additional level of texture. Sauce wise you have your typical white, green, hot and BBQ sauce.

Chicken over rice combo is my go to, plus it comes with a can of soda for only $8. Not many places these days comes with a drink.

Zabi makes lamb very good, but remember its your basic halal cart. Food is the same as Shah's carts, but zabi gives the food a little extra love withbhis cooking. its your best local halal cart for chicken and lamb mix.
Very good! They give lot of rice, chicken, salad and sauces! And get a free drink for only $8

Food hot/ fresh. Hot sauce not spicy enough, too much rice, not enough chicken. Chicken not seasoned enough. They don't say thank you when you pay and tip.

Everybody has their favorite local Halal Food cart. This is my go-to and apparently also for many St. John's students from down the street. Menu is simple. Chicken, Lamb, Falafel or Combo in a sandwich or over rice. If you get the rice platter, you get chunks of pita bread tossed in, along with some lettuce and tomato and your choice of white sauce, hot sauce and/or barbecue sauce. I'm a white sauce purist and get the hot sauce on occasion when I feel like scalding my taste buds. Prices have recently gone up $1 and soda is no longer included in the price, so don't be surprised. Times are hard on all of us, but we have to support the local small businesses. It's still a good deal though. It's a cash business, so if your wallet is running low, walk the 50' to the ATM and withdraw some cabbage. If you drive there and park in the TD Bank parking lot just to get your food, TD probably has you recorded on their surveillance cameras, so stay on the streets, unless you have business in the bank also.
They should get on Grubhub or
