On a long road trip, I don't want chain fast food and always try to find a local restaurant. TC's was a breath of small town fresh air with friendly and attentive service from ladies who clearly knew and cared about their patrons. Although everyone there knew one another by name and I was an outsider, it was heart warming to listen as the whole dining room sang Happy Birthday to a neighbor, told jokes, and discussed local concerns. We love locally owned places and on a trip, we are usually either late or early. We came in starving at around 3pm I had a tuna melt and applesauce. Exactly what I needed. My husband had Philly cheesesteak. He moaned so much it was embarrassing. Onion rings were perfect. I didn’t have dessert, but my husband moaned more with their coconut cream pie. All the while, we had a great conversation with the owner. Highly recommend. It’s hard to find good food near the interstate...
So I came here about 3 months ago. The food here is pretty good but the locals give you a death stare like you shouldn't be there. Sucks for them I guess? I'll come back for sure.
