Good place to eat on the run, it's hit or miss depending who cooks the food. But hospitable.

Walked in and immediately felt at home. We first opened the door to the post office, upon correctly opening the diner door, we were told that we can’t get food at the post office. From there on out, there was lots of good-natured banter. Loved it!!
Of course, most folks don’t interrupt their thruway travels for conversation; they stop for food, and they’re hoping it’s good food. Located 1.2 miles from exit 28 of the NYS Thruway, Michael’s is a gem. The pancakes were delicious. The blueberry pancakes were loaded with berries and so delicate. Want eggs over easy? Perfectly done! Bacon ā€œnormalā€ was that perfect not-rubbery-but-still-soft consistency.
Go for the food and enjoy the atmosphere!

Best BLT I’ve had in a long time! Breakfast sandwich is also great! Always enjoy chatting with the owner who is friendly and hysterical.

Will never give this place my business! Apparently calling a child fat makes the owner feel big and important. I can’t even imagine saying something to hurt a child. I’m sorry I wasn’t the one there with my son to stick up for him

I had a great experience from the moment that I got there and I almost went into the post office instead of the restaurant and I was greeted and re directed to the right place in a funny way by Michael. The atmosphere is fun, thanks to Michael. Otherwise, it would be your regular diner. The food was really good and a good price. Definitely recommend it and hopefully I will stop again next time I'm around the area.

A real hole-in-the-wall diner. Not too many place you can still find these days where you can get a cup of coffee and a plate of good food for under $10, but at Michael's my father and I had breakfast for just a little over $16 for the two of us.Mind you we did only get a couple omelets which come with toast and a couple cups of coffee, but the prices alone should be bringing in the crowds. If that wasn't enough you got some very friendly sort running the show, a guy who will hang out with you like a friend and talk turkey while your order is being made and after you're done eating. Now that might not vibe with some people, I know myself I am more of a solitary eater when it comes to my meals, but as long as the conversations don't require me to break from my meal then that's fine by me.As for the food itself, well you got nothing to worry about. The omelets were cooked perfectly, everything requested was made, the toast was nice and buttery, and the coffee was fresh. So if you want a quick breakfast, under $20, with some light conversation, then look no further.
