Last night I went to Port. There were 4 people at the bar and the front of the house was empty. I sat down at a table and was completed ignored by the waitress. In fact she seated a couple who were waiting for another couple and proceeded to set their placemats and menus. Even bringing them drinks while I sat there completely invisible. She the went back behind the bar and refilled others drinks. It seemed very peculiar as even this woman at the bar keep turning around as to acknowledge that I was being disrespected. I have been there before with friends who love food. This review is not intended to criticize the food. It happens to be very good. I'm posting because I'm just so upset by this experience. I won't go back there.

Unknown out of the way cozy place that looks like a neighborhood dive bar, but the food is like you’re eating in a 5 star restaurant & everything is absolutely delicious! Cudos to the chef!!!

Not practical for quick lunch during the work week. Food took 30 minutes to prepare and mind you this was off the daily lunch list. Too many daily options on the white board which makes sense why it took so long when you think about it. Food is freshly made to order but if you're short on time this is not the place to stop at. I'm sure this is a good place to eat on a Friday night with friends but be prepared to drop large bills. I suggest reducing your daily lunch options to a couple of choices, reduce the portion size which was way too much for one and lower the price. 30 bucks for lunch does not make sense!

If you are looking for a local place that has great food and service this is the place. Don't judge a book by its cover when you walk in it's a step back in time has a feel like you're in an old bar in Queens somewhere which I love. Just close your eyes and dig in to the great food.

This is one of my favorite places, the love and good attention with which they receive you is priceless. The food is + 5 stars, the atmosphere is practically familiar (very good) do not miss the experience of savoring its delicious meal ! I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!

This small Portuguese bar/restuarant was a great find. The meal was the best Portuguese food I have had. It was authentic food, more like what one would get as a home-cooked meal or traditional meal. The Port Cafe was open late and we were welcomed late in the evening; sat at the bar. The service was very good and pleasant. It is a small place, but the food was very good and we did not feel rushed. Have a glass of wine, enjoy the tapas and relax with home-styled Portuguese food.

My husband and I found this gem randomly, and we have been returning. The food is genuine, and the seafood is FRESH. It's not upscale and fancy but the place has a homely vibe. I much prefer the simple salad this place offers than any places in the city.

The food was great and the prices very reasonable. As a Portuguese, I have to say that the dishes taste like the ones you'd have in the old country. I had the cozido à portuguesa and loved it. A friend ordered carne de porco à alentejana and it was very tasty too. Give them a try!
