We have been looking for a really good fish fry in the area since the last place we used to go to closed. We finally found it at the Village Tavern. The fish fry was great!!!!

Service was great. Ambiance was fine. Food was terrible. The waitress asked how the food was but I didn't have the heart to tell her how awful it was.

Saturday evening-in town by chance no idea where to eat…”Tavern” sounds good…so we stop.Busy, 20 minute wait but open spots at the bar. A few beers as we wait. 1 of the beers ordered is undrinkable(subjective, I know) I ask for something different, they oblige(it’s great) but when the tab arrives the charge includes the original/undrinkable‽ Anyay…no table so I go back to the check in area, and ask for an update…” we went around asking for you, but couldn’t find you”. We were 10ft away! Seated 10 minutes later. SO loud(hard to control) but even more bothersome, someone was cleaning(bathroom) and the smell of “fabuloso” was almost unbearable!Ordered Redeo Burger(medium) and shaved roast beef! Burger overcooked/dry( I read an early review stating “best burger in the country”…that’s laughable) and absolutely no flavor. Shaved roast beef….again, flavorless. Brite spot…Tater tots…really good!! Dessert special…peach cobbler, excitedly ordered, response…”we’re out of peach cobbler”. At 6:00 you’re out of your “special”‽ Skipped dessert. After 2(3) beers, sandwiches with water, and no dessert, tip(forget the gentleman waiters name, but he was fast/courteous), $72.10 :( Not sure if there are better options in town, but we’ll certainly search our next time through.

Small but wonderful little spot. It's got great food and service. The only thing that's a bit negative is acoustics. Because of it's size it gets pretty loud. I can overlook it for a quick

The best beer selection in town. A must-go for visitors. Great bartenders. Obviously the twisted tavern wings are amazing (undefeated best in the valley), and the mooshu egg rolls are delicious. But if it's Friday, always go for the beer battered fish fry. The side of veggies balances so well and they have perfect cole slaw.Edit to add: also very cool to look up the history of the tavern, originally called Hill's Tavern - amazing to realize people have been walking through that door for over 100 years!

During the summer, long drives are for random.stops. I love enjoying a long drive and ending up in the middle of nowhere ... I believe this day we were heading to or from Letchworth State Park We checked out the Village Tavern for a quick bite. They had a nice indoor and outdoor patio. It's in a small little town and sits on a corner. Very large place with hometown classics. We indulged in burgers, roast beef, wings, and sandwiches. Unfortunately, it got so breezy that we had to ask if we could be seated inside. We took a high top table, and no sooner than we came in, our food came . Everything was just fine. There was a great ambiance I'm gonna have to go through to update with pictures
