I ordered the Ghee Roast Mutton Pulav and had a very disappointing experience. The rice contained micro stones, and I ended up chewing them unknowingly. This not only ruined the taste but also made it unsafe to eat. I expected a flavorful and enjoyable dish, but instead, it was horrible and completely unacceptable. Quality control needs to be taken seriously—customers should never have to deal with something like this.

BAD EXPERIENCEEEEEE!!!!!
I got a good review to try this restaurant. So yesterday I went to this restaurant and ordered “Malai Kofta” and “Shahi Paneer” with Malabar Parotta.
To my surprise they made both the curries look-alike (no difference except for kofta and paneer!!!!!). And it was prepared with extreme sweetness and raisins 🤢🤢🤢 I thought after some bites it will worn off thinking it might have green chillies. But it was simply tasted like payasam and couldn’t eat more than 2 spoons.
When I gave the review, they told it is because they have more American customers and suggested me to not waste the food and take it to home and try to modify. But to be frank, it can’t be modified even if I try to. Because it was prepared like a milkshake with extreme sugar.
And even after our compliant, they charged me for both the curries. It’s my last visit to TAJ !!!!!!

Absolutely the Worst Indian Food I've Ever Had
I don't usually leave bad reviews, but this place truly deserves one. This was hands down the worst Indian food I’ve ever tasted. I went for the buffet, and honestly, it was a complete disaster. The food was clearly not fresh — everything tasted like it had been sitting out for hours, if not days.
The curries were bland, oily, and lukewarm at best. The naan was rubbery, the rice was dry, and the vegetables were mushy and flavorless. Even the desserts were disappointing. I've had better Indian food from a microwave meal.
If you care about flavor, freshness, or basic food hygiene, do yourself a favor and skip this place. One visit was more than enough — I’m never coming back.
If you are craving for South Indian food, specifically Tamil Nadu flavors you no longer have to drive all the way down to New York city. You can get other Indian flavors too. Had a great time last night with my extended family of 10. They are super kid friendly. We ordered Vijaywada Chicken Biryani, Lamb Chukka, Veg Fried Rice, Veg Hakka Noodles, Uthappam, Naan, Palak Paneer, Gobi Manchurian. They were so kind to give us a complimentary Masala Dosa and the Sambar that accompanies with the dosas is the best I have eaten in the capital region, hands down. Great service by Divya all the time we go there!
