Our party of 11 (6 adults, 5 kids) had one of the worst dining experiences ever at Craft 47 in Goshen, NY. Despite having a reservation, our waitress was rude from the start — no place settings, slow service, and zero courtesy. When a child spilled water, she handed us a dirty rag and told us to “get napkins from the bathroom.” Kids’ portions were tiny (about 10–15 pieces of pasta), and they were still hungry afterward. (We also ordered adult portions to supplement their meals.) Any request we made was treated like an inconvenience.

At the end, a 20% gratuity was added without notice. When we questioned it, the waitress became confrontational, even threatening to call the police if we didn’t pay the full amount. She also made an offensive, racially insensitive remark, which was deeply upsetting. (Telling us to go to our country.) We continued to ask for the owner/manager so we could discuss directly with them. The waitress danced around the issue “I don’t have her number or they are too busy at the other restaurant.” We finally got a phone number but the owner didn’t pick up after 2 attempts. Any effort at reconciliation was futile as the waitress simply stated “it’s pay all of it or get arrested.”

We paid the $370 bill just to leave and put this tasteless experience behind us. Truly terrible service and behavior — avoid this restaurant at all costs. Or I would urge you to read the other similar reviews. After reading the owner’s tactless comment, it is apparent that customer service is not their forte. She wasn’t even present and has conjured up a story in her mind just to escape accountability. As another review is titled “felt like we were part of an experiment in how NOT to run a restaurant.”

On a positive note, we had a really pleasant experience at another restaurant the next day and this is how the server treated us :) What a difference it makes!

Very cute interior! We got excellent service for just one person working the whole place 😂 kudos to her! Found out later she was an owner (some guy said it to his table nearby) so thats pretty cool. The bev choices were great and the food was DELICIOUS! Overall, 10/10!

I love this place. A little stop we sometimes make on the way to PA. Such a cute 70's vibe. Love the decor. I had caprese salad with grilled chicken. My daughter a sandwich with fries.

Extremely cool spot to stop and get some beer. Their food selection is fantastic as well. They also have an entire disco theme going on in the bathroom?! The Place is well put together aesthetically, and the food and drinks there are just as good to back and match that. Highly recommend stopping by if you have a chance!

I rarely write negative reviews, but our recent experience at Craft 47 was too frustrating to ignore. From the moment we sat down, it felt like we were part of a badly run experiment in how not to run a restaurant. It’s hard to believe a place charging these prices could serve food that tasted this carelessly prepared. We should have known when we walked into a basically empty restaurant.

Let’s start with the pizza, which was advertised as thin crust. What we got was the exact opposite: a thick, doughy, undercooked mess that was almost impossible to chew. It tasted like cardboard with a smear of sauce and rubbery cheese on top. Truly inedible. But the real kicker? The chicken fingers. I’ve never seen — or tasted — so much salt dumped on a single dish in my life. It was like they mistook the salt shaker for breading. Completely overwhelming and impossible to eat.

To make matters worse, the service was equally disappointing. Every plate seemed like it was made by a different person with no communication in the kitchen. (Pretty sure there were two people working in the entire place.) Worse, the food didn’t even arrive together — it trickled out in a painfully staggered manner, making it impossible to actually enjoy a meal as a group. No communication, no apologies — just a disorganized mess.

Craft 47 might have the look of a trendy spot, but the execution is shockingly bad. Between the terrible food, inflated prices (I mean VERY inflated), and sloppy service, I’d recommend skipping this place entirely. I wish we went to the diner down the street instead, quite frankly.

We were here on a short vacation and found the restaurant with google. It was great- the service was quick and the food was really amazing. Everything tasted fresh and was very high quality! We would definitely go back!

We stopped in for a quick lunch on the way to Newark and thought we’d found a charming spot. The service took FOREVER to even take our order, and then we had to ask to get our order to go because it was taking forever and it would have made us late to stay. My husband asked for his salad to be made into a wrap, so that he could eat it on the road. The server brought us our to-go bag without silverware. My salad was a disgusting watery mess with a whole can of capers poured into it, and zero flavor. My husband’s dish was NOT made into a wrap — imagine trying to eat a sloppy salad in a fast-moving car? Absolute rubbish and total disappointment.

The restaurant smelled bad and the fries tasted like they were cooked in motor oil. The staff was kind but it was really the only thing good there.

Been here twice and some dishes are really good and some fall flat. Cocktails are great, pretzels are great, oysters are great, the Nice salad is actually perfect. Garlic shrimp are meh, soba noodles are good, burgers are very good, desserts are great, Steak frites are overpriced and suck and was just burnt fry ends and really hard and tough steak that I brought home to my dogs.

This was my 5yr olds favorite restaurant during our vacation. We really enjoyed eating outside and the food was very good. He said it was the best shrimp he has ever had and I didn't even have to encourage him to eat everything on his plate.
