Dick & Jenny’s is not a restaurant. It is a NATIONAL POWERHOUSE. I have visited numerous times and always leave happy. This time I made a reservation online and the hostess watched for our arrival! Gumbo was some of the best I have experienced. Having lived in Louisiana where gumbo is the key indicator of a restaurant's culinary capacity, I have had some very good gumbo. Scones and cornbread were very good. At slightly over 1200 miles to New Orleans, Dick and Jennys took me right next door

I've only been to NOLA once, but I was there for a week, and this is like being back in the French Quarter all over again. The portions are *enormous*, richly flavored, and hearty.
