Nohara Ramen is the solid choice for Great Neck and the surrounding area. The Char Siu that is served with some of the ramen is tender and tasty. Many of the appetizers such as the Nohara Fries and fried chicken are well prepared. I’ve gotten to know the staff in this restaurant since we do take out from them each week and eat in once in a while.Good people making and serving good food. This restaurant survived through COVID based on their commitment and quality.

Would give a 0 if I can. Possible the worst dining experience ever. Food was just meh. But the service was definitely the worst. When the waiter served the appetizer chicken karaage, he accidentally spilled the water on the table and it got to everywhere on the table and the floor and some of it on my clothings. It is fine I understand things happened and it is just a careless mistake. However, his careless made one of the pieces of chicken falling on the table. Instead of cleaning up the mess first, he put the piece of chicken on the table using his bare hand back to the plate?????? How ridiculous????????? I don’t know if he has any sense of food hygiene. We immediately put the piece of chicken back to the table and wrapped it with napkins. He definitely saw it but he did not apologize or anything. All he did was just remaining silent. Can’t believe nowadays there is still someone does business like this. AVOID this place by all means. They are not worth it.

A pretty new ramen place located right by the LIRR station in Great Neck. The ambiance is nice with standard yellow lighting overlooking a wooden sushi bar and several tables of 4. The walls are decorated with a variety of anime posters some of which are from my favorite movies by Hayao Miyazaki and Makoto Shinkai. Upon entering, they also sell some of the anime posters as well as stickers for a very reasonable price (2 for $0.25). This ramen place not only sells ramen, but Udon and rice options as well for those who do not like ramen. I'm a huge fan of Udon, but very picky with it as well. I decided to stick with a ramen dish since it is a ramen shop after all. I ordered the curry ramen and my boyfriend ordered the special BG Ramen which is a tonkatsu soup base with an extra black garlic kick. Both soup bases were good, but surprisingly I enjoyed the curry one more. It's the traditional sweet Japanese curry that's not spicy and has corn, 2 halves of a marinated egg, and Naruto. The BG Ramen also had 2 halves of a marinated egg, 2 thin slices of char siu, and a plethora of bamboo shoots with inoki mushrooms. The ramen is a bit soft to my liking and softly resembles those from instant noodle packages. My friends ordered the Japanese fried rice and kimchee ramen. The Japanese fried rice was not bad and tasted like regular fried rice with some shrimp pieces. We all shared two appetizers - the Nohara fries and the Chicken Karaage. The order of Karaage only had like 5-6 pieces and was not worth the price. The Nohara fries were loaded waffles fries with sauce and pretty good. They also have seasonal desserts and drinks as well which we did not try. The waiter was friendly, but as soon as he was done serving food he sat at the sushi bar and went on his phone. The restaurant does have a stamp card in which you get a free bowl of ramen after purchasing ten. Overall, a decent ramen shop in Long Island!

It's really difficult to find a ramen restaurant that doesn't miss, yet, here we are. I have visited probably 3 or 4 times, and everytime, it was on point. I've been making an effort to eat through the menu every visit and now have several favorites. Everyone who works there is super helpful and inviting. I can't wait until my next visit, which will likely be very soon. ??

Ramen served with soup cold, lukewarm at best. Mentioned to the waiter and the chef just microwaved, ruined the taste of noodles.Chef also kept making loud metal clanging and banging noises behind the counter while we were eating.Just a poor experience and atmosphere.

Absolutely amazing service. Despite the tight space, they were able to accommodate our party of 17. In addition, the food is both authentic and delicious. I can not recommend this place enough, a hidden local gem.
