Disappointing all around. Mediocre food but even worse service.

The food was absolutely incredible—everything from the delicate pastries to the rich, authentic clotted cream and flavorful preserves was top-notch. I especially recommend the caramel tea; it’s sweet, soothing, and the perfect complement to the experience.

However, I’m giving four stars instead of five due to the service, which didn’t quite meet the standard I expect from a proper tea service. When we asked for cream, our server scoffed and insisted the tea didn’t need it. Once it was finally brought, we weren’t checked on again—no refills, no offer of more tea or water, and it took nearly eight minutes after we’d clearly finished before anyone cleared our table.

Still, the quality of the food and tea makes this place worth visiting—I just hope the service improves.

Great time at the cafe. Sat outside, a little chilly deep under the awning and not the most amazing view than the direct balcony areas but still very nice. Great break space between hiking around. The quiche and scones were great, scone could be split between two even since it was quite large.

I cannot say enough about the staff at the Hidden Oak Cafe. I hosted a baby shower in the room (annex) adjacent to the main house. Every detail was considered. The staff was courteous and attentive. This was a Tea and the food was very good. Can’t beat this venue. Thank you to Danielle and her team. Everyone had a great time.

We had the Tea Service. The teas and scones were good. The sandwiches were so so—no flavor at all. The cucumber “sandwich” was tasty.

We also ordered Lobster Bisque and that was delicious.

Overall, it was a pleasant meal—especially for the price. Not enough variety in the sandwiches. They should adjust that.

The tea service is not as elaborate or elegant as other places but for the modest price, well worth it.

I probably wouldn’t do the tea service again but generally, the food and tea/coffee is good here. Recommend.

It was nice enough to try once but I don't know if we feel compelled to come back. Rustic vibe but kind of drab. Menu was a bit boring. The grilled cheese sandwich was super basic for the price. The spinach quiche special was very good. Soups were piping hot and a huge portion, but we probably would have preferred a regular sized soup for a more reasonable price. The pistachio cake was fine. Service was satisfactory, but they brought out the hot soups and the sandwiches all at once. I guess we didn't specify we would prefer the soups first. It just seems like the cafe can probably run as a order at the window/counter type place then needing table service. Soda's are from a can, plastic cups etc.

Ordered a BLT for $12.99 got three pieces of bacon, they wouldn't let the waitress fix it. The manager acknowledges there should be six pieces of bacon. Better off going to the deli around the corner that charges $9.49 and would at least rectify the order with a credit if there was a mistake.

Our waitress Tammy was extremely rude. I’ve never had worst service in my entire life. She refused to give one of us a glass of water. The food wasn’t good and neither was the tea.

They have a Victorian Tea at the Cafe. We made a reservation for a Saturday afternoon a day before. The Victorian Tea was $42.95 a person plus tax and automatic 20% tip so for 2 people, the bill was $110.49. Each person gets a tea pot. The scone and pistachio cake were good. The decor in the tea room was nice though. We came in a relatively hot day and they had fans out since there was no AC.

After taking in the scenery of the arboretum, I went to have lunch at The Hidden Oak Café. It was amazing! The hostess Ciara greeted me with a warm friendly smile . And my waitress Emily was kind and attentive. Service was 10/10 and so was the meal❤️

Loved the experience and tea! But the added gratuity is ridiculous for the waitress just to bring over tea and a tray of pasties. Tammy moved the fan away from our table when we moved it closer to us-as it was 79 degrees in the building, worse than outside. We were dripping sweat. They need to invest in some AC, people are going to pass out in there having their hot tea!!
