Nice atmosphere and ambience. Great Location. Menu is limited (especially for GF options) but the dishes are delicious and service is good. Happy Hour and many specials thought the week.
My husband had been to Sea Smoke and was excited to bring me. I made a reservation for 6:45 pm on a Sunday. We arrived and spent a full 5 minutes at the hostess stand. No one was there to greet us. When we were finally greeted, the hostess was flustered. We had a reservation for inside and she offered us an outside seat, which was lovely however it appeared there was no inside service. So not sure if there really was a choice. Our server was great. Attentive and informative, however I missed his name for a shout out and it wasn't on the receipt. Just” 1b”. The busboy knocked my chair twice refilling water. Our food was delicious. I had the ahi tuna, my husband the scallops. Both were well seasoned and delicious. The scallop potion was priced as an entree but absolutely not a dinner portion. I was happy to share my plate. We left feeling like the experience wasn't worthy of the cost. The place is gorgeous, the views of The Hudson and Troy are charming. It's so close to good, but I doubt we'll be back.
Very much enjoyed the dining experience along the Hudson River. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and my wife had the salmon. Both were excellent. Service was very attentive yet not intrusive.
I had an amazing experience at Sea Smoke Waterfront Grill. I had an unforgettable birthday experience. From the receptionist, to the waitress, to the Chef, everyone was just amazing! The food and drinks were really good too. I'd recommend Sea Smoke Waterfront Grill to anyone, anytime any day! Thank you so much for making my day so special.
On the wharf outside you can experience great service and fresh seafood. Our server was very friendly and suggested many options for us to share. Food was clean and we will definitely go back when in town again.
We had fantastic service from our server Sarah. She was very personable and helped make our evening very enjoyable.
Menu seemed limited. Food was okay but not great. Service was excellent. Overall not a great value but glad we tried it.
Service was great. Really nice bar outside. Very expensive but some issues. The Ahi Tuna was lightly breaded and cool. It was served over cold slaw. I felt the tuna just sat and cooled down for 10 or 15 minutes. The Caesar salad had too much dressing on it. The scallops were very good but were supposed to be served on top of a beet puree but it wasn't a beet purée. It was gray and just fair. I'm Not sure what the purée was. The artichokes also had too much sauce on it. Maybe it was an off night for the kitchen but at those prices, there should not be any off nights.
We have been here for dinner several times for special occasions . The service is always excellent. It is located on the Hudson River with a great view if you sit outside ( which we did this time). The food is always well prepared. It isn't cheap so some might find it overpriced. They do have handhelds and some pasta dishes at lower prices. My wife had the Chilean Sea Bass and raved about it. I had the salmon - cooked perfectly for me. My son had the scallops and he liked them. The weather was perfect to sit outdoors on their covered veranda. With a drink , odeurve, seafood or steak entrees, and dessert , you're looking in the 80-100 dollar range per person. yes, I would return , probably for their Sunday brunch next time.
Despite our reservation for outdoor dining, we were instructed to wait at the bar because we were early. To be clear, we were the second of two couples to arrive once dinner hours began. We waited and watched as other reservations arrived and were seated in the outdoor dining space-these were all couples and all seated at four top tables. Eventually my husband asked the hostess if we could be seated. She brought us to a small table for two, not near the water as requested. When we asked for a table closer to the water (and a larger table as my husband has broad shoulders), we were told that those open tables were for 4 guests and were reserved. When we asked why we weren't seated in order of arrival, hostess had no response and stated that the table offered was the only available. She offered to speak to a manager only to leave us standing while she sat other guests. We walked out and won't ever go back.

We were pleased overall with our experience, but somewhat disappointed with the slow service due to a wedding party that overwhelmed the kitchen. Our server was apologetic when we expressed how hungry we were sitting for over 45 minutes after ordering our meal, but wouldn't even bring us some bread to hold us over. That is not how to make a good impression! When our meal arrived, the quality and portion size was excellent. We'll return again...hopefully when there is not a wedding party there.
My friend and I went to Sea Smoke on July 1. We were seated promptly, and got settled before our waiter came to the table. We started with the Octopus which had a terrific flavor but was a touch chewy, overall a good choice. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the medallions of beef and my sea bass was moist and delicious. Both were cooked to perfection. We finished the meal by sharing the candy bar dessert, it was rich and absolutely delicious. We both enjoyed two cocktails each and our total bill was $217. We both thought that it was a good value for the quality of the food and atmosphere. We will be back again.
My wife and I continue to enjoy the food, service, and ambiance of Sea Smoke. It is not inexpensive but one on the top restaurants in the Capital area.
Wonderful location. Sat overlooking the Hudson with the gentle breeze adding to the ambience. Service took about 7 mins before anyone came to the table but once they did service was very good. The ahi tuna nachos are a winner. Calamari was outstanding The lobster roll was expensive but very good too. I wish I'd brought a bigger appetite because the menu was wonderful. Drinks were overprice but good. Overall a wonderful experience and I would go back to explore other items on the menu in this beautiful setting. Value-wise because of the cost I have it 4 stars for that category. I highly recommend this dining experience . Doc
