I usually love Bar Frites but yesterday's Sunday Brunch was a disappointment. The table service was basically non-existent. We had to request menus after being seated for 10 minutes then had to request a waiter to take our order after at least another 15 minutes. I ordered an omelet which was, well, just an omelet. Nothing special and I've had better at a diner. The French fries that they are famous for were not crisp and fairly limp. We had to wave staff down to get beverages and coffee refills. But the biggest problem was the noise level. The place was packed with tables elbow to elbow. Cacophony would be a good description. I could not hear my companion across a 2-person table, and she could not hear me. After trying to literally shout across the table we finished our food and left in frustration. If you're looking for a nice, relaxing Sunday brunch go elsewhere.

It was not the restaurant's fault but the fire alarm went off twice during a business lunch. It was obnoxiously loud. They came to our table to apologize and said it was from another venue in the building and the fire dept was coming to turn it off. Major headache inducing. 🤪

My only criticism is that the restaurant has very poor acoustics and hearing my companion was difficult.

Best French Dip sandwich I've had in years. Jack, our server was simply wonderful. Will definitely go back. Highly recommend.
The family went back today (10/25) for more of their delicious food. Excellent service, as always. Thought this time I share a photo of the luscious desserts.

ordered steak tartare. It was't seasoned and tasted like raw chop meat with no preparation. don't order this dish. ordered a Margarita. cost $20 and filled completely with ice. disappointing.

My party has been to Bar Frites often because the food and service are always high-quality. We've never been disappointed with anything from the menu, and the menu's rather large. I highly recommend Bar Frites if you want to enjoy your evening out.

Every time we dine here the service is impeccable. The bartenders are so skilled and definitely make the best cocktails around. Food is always good and consistent. The fries, salads, and sandwiches are our go-to favorites.

We shared a salad and French Dip - everything was delicious. The staff is friendly and effective, They really pack people on and it's noisy and crowded, but that just means you're in the right place!
Would absolutely go back for the mussels. The banana tart for dessert was just okay. The tart piece seemed like it needed to bake longer. The drinks were okay but not great.

We've been dining here for years. Have never had a meal which hasn't been delicious and the service is always the best. The escargot are tender, never rubbery, in a decadent garlic butter sauce (great for dipping bread). Truffle Mac and cheese irresistible even for me (lactose intolerant), and the crab cake is always fresh. Steak frites and haricot verts are a wonderful combination. And did I mention how great the service is? A local favorite for us

This is one of our favorite restaurants, and I believe that everybody is entitled to a bad night, but while we have been here many times before, they missed it on this visit. We will be back as past experience justifies that - but they did miss the mark on this visit.
